Leach Patterson Cemetery
That is a lot of great information. I will sift through it all. The area sounds right. I will see if I can locate someone in Robeson Co who will check it out for me. I want to go back myself, hopefully soon. I live in Mt. Airy, NC and go to Montgomery & Stanly Co. often. Thank you so much for sharing this. Are you related to the Pattersons?

The Mallory you are speaking of is a different one. Joseph Morgan's wife, Malloy, lived until 1949. She and her three sisters, who never married, lived together until they all died off. Family members visited them through the years and visited the graves. I hope you can find where the land is. Let me know.

Thank you for your message. I do not know where this cemetery is, but very much want to know. All I have to go on was what was told by family members. Joseph Morgan is the first person I recorded buried there. He died in 1902 after getting hit by a train. He was carried to his home and bled to death in hours. When he was buried, there were stones there, probably Leach family members. Years later, when a family member visited his widow, there was only a rock marking his grave. His widow lived until 1949. I doubt there are headstones for her and her unmarried sisters as they lived together and were very poor. I know that they lived near the Robeson/Scotland boundary. I believe the cemetery is on the land owned by their father, as that is where they lived.

RE: Seth Smith grave photo
My wife and I just happened upon the cemetery as we were coming from the beach. So, I took several photos just as samples. There were 4 stones like Seth's side by side under pine trees right rear of the cemetery. It was very hot and the stones were covered by pine needles and I regret to tell you that I did not take the time to clean them off. Blanche was on his right side but I did not read the other stones. Wish I had cleaned them off.
