Re: Mary J. Drake
Hi William, I am a descendant of Mary Drake, who was the wife of James S. Drake and have been doing some family research. I have a death certificate for Mary stating her mother's maiden name was Fuqua and Father's name was Hood. Do you have any further information on parents names? Also, Mary's brother Charles Lewis, do you know who his father was? I would love to talk to you about them. You can email me at Thank You.

Drake Family from Walton Co
I started researching my Drake line in 1970, and being stationed in Washington D.C. in 1980, was able to find so much more. Newsom Drake and wife Dolly Caswell were the parents of Lucy Jane, Edwin Sylvanus "Syl",Margaret Elizabeth and James Michael Drake (know as Mike). Cousins in Walton County found that Newsom and Dolly both died of malaria: Dolly in unmarked grave and Newsom buried in woods near home where his body was found. I have never hear of a James Spencer Drake unless that is one of Mike's sons. E-mail me at

Annie Drake
Hi Posted your picture for Annie. Note that she is buried with Walter Drake and I included a full headstone picture on her site.

RE: Odd Fellow Cemetery
I thought that this might be the case. If you set up this cemetery, you might want to correct the county to Mobile County instead of Jackson County. Jackson county is a far north county & mobile county is far south. However, I think there is already an Odd Fellows Cemetery in Mobile county on Find A Grave with 2500 interments. Annie Drake is not listed as being buried there. The best thing to do would be to delete your Odd Fellows Cemetery if you set it up and add Annie's name to the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Mobile County. You can then make a photo reaquest and someone in Mobile County would get it. Have a great day! Beth Presley

Odd Fellow Cemetery
You have made a photo request for Annie Gillman Drake in the Odd Fellow Cemetery in Jackson County, AL. I am from Jackson County have never heard of this cemetery. Do you have any idea where it is located? Could it have another name now? Almost all of the Jackson County cemeteries have been documented and this cemetery is not listed in the USGENWEB listing. Any info that you could provide would be helpful. Thanks, Beth
