|Ron Chapin||RE: Powers@Oquawka Cemetery|
Sorry,I have no more information on the Powers.
They are in 3 different plots in the old part and not close to each other.
Plot 10, 106 and 120 with plot 106 having the most. My notes say there is a Hannah Lancaster in plot 106 also.

Hi Nancy! I just transferred Homer Akers to you. When I visit a cemetery I look for stones that I have requests for but I also just take rancom shots. This cemetery had so many headstones that appeared to be from the civil war I just started snapping them all. Now I wish I'd taken shots of who was next to Homer, but unfortunately I didn't. Unfortunately this particular cemetery is in a very bad area of town so I may not get back there again for awhile. Good luck on finding your relatives!

I am sorry I do not.
|R Passmore||RE: Alonzo Powers|
I was just looking at the archives of the Belleville telescope to see if I could find obituaries. The only thing I found was an obituary for a James Powers. If you go to the web site for the Belleville library or the Republic County Historical Museum you can find the link to the newspaper archives.
I am very sorry to tell you that Mary and Alonzo Powers do not have a headstone. I did confirm that they are buried at the Belleville cemetery. When I did not find a headstone I went to the Republic County Museum and looked at the cemetery index file. According to the file there is no marker. So sorry. If you would like me to photo the plot without a marker just let me know.
|Mike Ohio||RE: Newton Akers|
I have transferred all the Akers to you.
|Nancy Hofer||RE: photo of Mary Powers grave|
Hi Nancy, I am so sorry, but I don't have a picture of Mary Powers grave. I don't live back there or I would go and take one for you. I live in New Mexico.
|Mike Ohio||Newton Akers|
I made the addition of 1845 for his date of birth. If you would like, I will be glad to transfer all the Akers to you. Let me know if you desire this.
|Mike Ohio||Peter Akers|
I uploaded Peter's photo as per your request. I also created Memorials and uploaded photos for His wife Mary, sons Howard, Cortland, Newton, George, and daughter Ellen.
I also created Memorials and uploaded photos for Peter's wife Mary Boozer Akers's family who are interred right beside the Akers Plot: Rachel Boozer, Mary, and husband Rev. John Boozer. I trust this information will be useful to you.
