I think I will create the memorials in Creemore without dates.
I see another tree says Mary died in Toronto in 1892. I don't believe that is right. I think that lady's husband was Samuel, according to a marriage for what appears to be her son.
A number of years ago when Jack Lemmon had the cemetery records he was able to help me find an unmarked grave by telling me who bought the plot around the appropriate death date. That death was around 1890. That strategy wouldn't work for a common name if the plot was bought years before the death though. The records are now held by

Hi Wendy, As you know I have been busy linking people in Creemore Cemetery with their parents. I would like to create memorials for William and Mary so their several children would show up as siblings.
Have you any idea where they are buried? Also how confident are you that the William Thompson who died in Collingwood in 1879 is the same person, there is no age on the death reg?
Thanks, Don

Thank you! Nevertheless . . .
It was through your photo and info that I discovered the beginning of the Neff family information on-line. Thank you very much! Every little bit creates a larger mosaic. -- Peter Hoover

James Robert Neff, Dunedin Cem., Simcoe County, ON
Dear Wendy,

I was happy to find a marker for my relative, James Robert Neff, who was born in the Dunedin Cemetery in Simcoe County, Ontario. As a young person I taught school near Bancroft, Ontario and much enjoyed that north-eastern corner of the province.

Now, after 35+ years of no longer living in Canada (we live in Tasmania, Australia) I have been looking up some old connections. I have a really interesting story written by Arthur C. Neff (James's father) who was living with our Mennonite families as a young man. His mother had died and he was taken in by distant relatives. It seems to me the Neffs (if there are any left anywhere) should know the story and enjoy it too. Do you know what happened with the Neffs who lived in your area? Or how I could get in contact with any one of them?

I would love to reconnect, after so many years!

May the peace of Christ be with you,

Peter Hoover

Hi Wendy, I have sent you an edit linking this person with her parents. Unfortunately the system has a quirk that sometimes won't accept such an edit without removing the existing link to their spouse. I hope you can accept my edit and then replace the link to Lewis Lightheart.
Thanks, Don

Hi Wendy, This soldier's actual burial is memorial #56514521. I have sent an edit linking him with his father James in Dunedin. I can't find his mother's grave. An online tree says she died in Manitoba?

Isaac Howell, Jerseyville, Ontario
I found your photo of this man's gravestone while searching for information on my family history. An Isaac Howell, along with A.D. Bradford, both of Paris, Ontario, were witnesses of the marriage of John Buckberrough and Claricy Shaver in 1859. Claricy was the daughter of my 4Xgreat grandfather, Isaac Shaver (1793-1879) and 4Xgreat grandmother, Mary/Mercy Coleman (1797-1889).

I'm not sure if this Isaac Howell is the one who witnessed the marriage that I reference.

Please let me know if you are related to Isaac Howell or anyone else I have mentioned and if you would be interested in sharing information.
