I have a passion for anything old; antiques, histories of old communities, and especially old cemeteries. The more I photograph and transcribe them, mainly in Nevada County, California, the more I learn about the people. That is what is most fascinating to me. I have a Bachelors Degree in History and hope to continue to photograph the old headstones for many years to come. I believe in preserving the old cemeteries and documenting the markers left by old pioneers.

RE: Robert Hunt Organ
Hi Kat,
I see you have a picture of a stone for both Clemens and MerleJean Organ. It looks like it's blank on the one side. Is it blank on the other side? The previous caretaker of the cemetery said there was a marker that said, "In Memory of MIMI" with a date of 1987, that matches to the year of death for MerleJean. I'm assuming MIMI was her nickname and am looking to get a picture of that marker as well. Thanks! Mimi Pascale in NJ

Robert Hunt Organ
Kat,
I've submitted an edit request for Robert to update his DOB to 9/13/1866. Plot 183 has 3 markers. This was one of them. Can you take a picture of the other 2 markers and e-mail them to me? The other temp marker says, "Robert Organ", I think. There is a 3rd marker that says,"In Memory of Mimi" with a date of 1987. This is the plot where Robert Hunt Organ, Teresa Glunz Organ, son Clemens Robert Organ and wife, Merle Jean Glunz are buried. They are distant cousins of mine. (I live in NJ) I have all the DOB and DOD info for them, which I can send you. I'm considering putting in new temp markers for them.
Thank you. Mimi Pascale mimipascale@earthlink.net

Dear Kat B, I am Fritz's daughter. Would you transfer his memorial to me? I would like to manage it for the family.
I would appreciate your help. And thank you for adding this to "Find A Grave".
Thank you,
Carolyn

RE: Grace Thomas
I agree it is a beautiful cemetery. Last time I was there I was poking around in the weeds against the back fence of the old IOOF cemetery. Wonder it there are some hidden sites there?
Thanks again for setting me straight re Grace Thomas

Robert Davis & Averilla Wood Davis
On the memorial page for Robert Davis, you included this note: Note: Shared information states that Robert died March 22, 1843 and one day later his wife died, and both are buried side by side in the same grave at the Davis Chapel Cemetery near Alpha, Clinton Co., KY. Please let me know if this can be confirmed.

Based on a statement from their son, Absalom Davis, this information is not accurate. The statement lists Robert's date of death as March 22, 1843, and also says Averilla "only survived him two months and six days, dying on the 28th of May following." The statement goes on the say that when Averilla died, Robert's grave was opened, and "with a little extension, and her coffin set down by the side of his." Robert & Averilla are my 4x great grandparents. Thanks for the memorial page.
