I started my genealogy research almost 40 years ago, fortunately when my grandmothers were still living. My roots are in Pennsylvania. I greatly appreciate those who have added information and photographs for those of us who can not travel.|
My family names include: Park, Hirleman, Kiesinger, Edkin, Stepp, Little, Laird, Horn, Seward, Glidewell, Bennett, and Rarig.
I am currently working on a project for my niece. We are tracking her paternal grandmother's family, primarily in Cambria County, Pennsylvania. The names include: Crum, Jones, Vaughn, Himes, Makin, and Meekins.
Please feel free to copy any photos I have posted and share them with family. I posted them for that purpose/reason.
I do have ONE question. If we only add photos WE have taken, how do we add photos of ourselves?

|Anna Huth||Theodore E. Alloway|
Hi Marilyn...would you transfer the Memorial for Theodore E. Alloway #148443809 to me. Theodore is a cousin of mine through marriage and I would love to link him with his parents and siblings.
Thank you for the work you are doing to help others locate their love ones.

|Starla McKinney||RE: McKinney family|
Hi Marilyn. Thanks for your reply. I am signed on with Ancestry.com My user name is starlad3 and my email is firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks for the info. I find this all so fascinating, but feel like I am fumbling as it is quite intense. My grand parents are Lila (Skidmore/McKinney) Jacobs. She was married to Irwin McKinney. His father was Jetson McKinney out of the PA area. My grandfather came west around the turn or slightly before the last century. I don't know much about anyone back east, but have a definite interest. Are you related to the 'McKinneys' that I am from? My current and maiden name is Starla Dawn McKinney. My father is Paul McKinney.
Hi Marilyn. My name is Starla McKinney. I saw your name on what I believe is the origin of my family to the US. I have an interest in my roots but have started this process long after my grandparents departure. Are you also from the same family? Not sure where to start, but greatful for any info I can locate. Henry McKinney Rebecca Hynman appear to be at the top.

I saw a black spot on the US flag, and clicked on it to see what it was. If you click on the 2 fotos, you can make out the reverse side of the star, that is mounted on a stake or pole. They are common in old cemeteries. Thanks for checking it out. I'm way out in California, and really appreciate your avocation.

You are most welcome!!
Of course, as you can see, the sun was NOT cooperating :-(
|Olin E. Hartley||RE: Zeppa photos|
You are very welcome.I didn't know them but I was a good friend of their son Keating.
|Steve Kimple||Porter Kimple Dibbler|
My Kimple ancestors were in Indiana Co., PA. But, I have not seen any connections with Dibblers or Millers. Nancy Dibbler, b. 1838 is buried in the Baptist Cemetery at Chambersville. That is where Wm. Kimple b. 1835 lived and ran a general store until about 1891. He moved to Irwin where he died in 1925. His memorial is 71263722. He was also a member of the Baptist Church in Chambersville. So, they were certainly acquainted and possibly good friends. William was highly regarded as a Capt. in the Civil War. So, they may have given Porter his name. Just a guess.
|Beth||Reese in Cherry Grove Cemetery|
You wrote me a note saying that Lawrence Reese could not be the son of Laura and Lawrence Reese. He is indeed the son who died before his mother. The other son, Lee T., is the son who stabbed his mother 7 times, to death, and went to prison. I also have the newspaper article regarding this and her obituary stating the family connections. She also had a sister, Ruth Sick.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask anytime. Your ancestors are all my ancestors also! My mother was maiden name a Glidewell, and of course related to all those Sullivan County surnames!
Thanks for the inquiry - I always like to make certain that all my memorials are correct, so I appreciate your concern.
