I became a Find-A-Grave member after "accidentally" stumbling onto the website. I grew up near two cemeteries, and spent many hours in both of them as a child. I remember strolls with my grandmother, listening to stories about various people as we paused at their grave, including stories and legends she heard from her parents about people who had died long before her time. I can almost hear her voice reminding me "not to run in the cemetery" and "don't walk over the graves". I appreciate so much my upbringing in a Christian family. I was never taught that my relatives and loved ones are actually in the cemetery, so don't think of going there as "visiting them". Rather, I was very much taught from my earliest years about that great resurrection morning yet to come, and have always secretly hoped I might be at or near the cemetery when that trumpet sounds! |
In summary, I really appreciate this website. I think it is a super way to be able to honor a person's memory (the e-candles, flowers, etc.) and leave notes, photos, etc. The best part is that it is completely free, and does not exist solely to make a profit! I am thankful to have found it! God Bless!

I did find a name of a memorial I done but not sure how the church picture got put there. I must have made a mistake so I am going to delete the memorial until I can locate the correct cemetery. But I do not know how to remove the church picture. Sorry for the mistake. We may have to contact the person that created the cemetery to start with or contact Find a Grave. Maybe if we both contact Find a Grave the will remove the picture for us.

I don't know how this has happened I have never been to that cemetery in Texas and I am not sure how to remove that picture. I am going to search the name in the cemetery and see if I know any of the names listed there Thank you for letting me know about the picture.

Many time F A G doesn't think someone qualifies for "famous" status even though they are clearly famous! Sounds like you've done all you can. Try emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and ask if she can help. Rosie
Thanks Lance. So many people are hurting and need all the prayers they can get. Rosie

Hi Lance, the one thing I know you have to do is change Tony's bio and make it only one paragraph. It won't be considered for famous unless it meets all of the rules F A G has setup.
Then, you will have to deal with the fact they may not consider him known to a large enough group of people to make him famous. Try changing his bio and submit it again. It really doesn't matter how many "votes" he has so I wouldn't worry about that. Rosie
Hi Lance, I saw your message on someone's page about hoping to have Tony made famous. Here is the link for famous bios. I haven't read all of it but I do know it can only have one paragraph, no matter how long it is. So you will have to remove the spaces you have now. Good luck, Rosie

We will keep trying. Good luck.

I've tried everything I can think of to get his status upgraded. I have failed on all of them. I wish Find A Grave would do something about it.

If you can send me instructions on how to request this, we can try again.
