Lorna, I went out to the Waltz Cemetery to get Dennis's headstone Photo. This is the bet that can be done. The text inscribed into the Stone is very shallow. I tried multiple angles and could not get a better picture.

death places

Hi Lorna,

For Vernon and Orlean, do you have evidence other than social security records for their death places? Social Security only indicates their last mailing addresses. I have not searched for obits yet.

Forgot to say

Mountain View Cemetery claims to have about 170,000 interments.
Our group of gravers just got the record count on find a grave up to 78,000. The grounds cover 226 acres. We have a little more to do.

Mountan View Cemetery

Some background information.

I live in Sacramento. I visit Mountain View Cemetery weekly. It is a drive of about 85 miles one way. I have about 35,000 records there.

I add to a "work tree" for all the edits I process. My work tree has about 35,000 people in it and I am only a little way through my records.

This is a travel day, so I am going out to my truck right now.
I will follow up this evening on your other questions.

Keep smiling,

Kurt

Barney

Hi Lorna,

It wasn't that your tree sources were not useful, the problem was they looked like my list of sources and don't have the support we need. :-)
We just need to scratch around some more.

Cassie is listed as an "adopted daughter" in the 1880. She will take a bit of work, also. Think Cassie is a nickname?

Have you noticed another marriage for John Barney? Seems like some kids from another marriage are on the front of the niche.
A little more sleuthing to do here, also.

Don't let it get to you, this is really fun.

Barney Dates and Locations

Hi Lorna,

Sorry, your sources do not cover the dates and locations needed.

I looked at the primary records attached to your tree and they do not provide the details about the needed dates and locations. Also, Find a Grave is not a primary source, nor is the content of other peoples trees.

We are looking for birth records, church records, death certs, military records, or other hard documents.

Looking forward to what you find,

Kurt
