Bio

Becoming a member of and a contributor to Find A Grave has provided me with the reasons, and the opportunities to visit a number of cemeteries where I have family and friends. I find myself speaking to them as I visit their graves and taking pictures of their headstones. These experiences have helped me acknowledge my destiny, and allows me to peacefully accept it, as we know where we will be.

Born to Dale O. Stillwell Sr. and Pauline R. (Weightman) Stillwell. Grew up in and around Browns, Mt. Carmel, Adams Corner and Allendale, Illinois. After Allendale, Illinois High School graduation, we joined the U.S. Navy for four years, (1964-1968) we were in Naval Aviation Electronics, ATN3, and then after the Navy, we spent 35 years earning a living with AT&T and moving around the Midwest. We are a Paid-Up-For-Life member of The American Legion joining in 1968. We are an AT&T Life Member of the Telecom Pioneers of America, and a member of the Sierra Club. Now we are retired and living away from Allendale. We plan to be buried at Allendale as it is our ancestral home. Our plots are purchased, and our stone is set. We are working on the Stillwell family tree. Finding lots of incorrect and missing data on the family. Wish to add and correct where possible. Interested in getting any family information from you that might be in your old family bibles. Should anyone have data on the Allendale, Illinois Stillwells or Wabash and Lawrence Counties, Illinois Stillwells, please share the data with us.

Two of the four cemeteries that we are working on are the Adams Corner Cemetery and the Stillwell Family Cemetery that are located between Allendale and Patton, Illinois. We grew up in this area and played in these two cemeteries as a small child. The other two cemeteries where we have family and friends that we are working on are the Allendale Cemetery, and the Armstrong Cemetery. We have a number of family members and friends buried in all four of these cemeteries. We have found a large number of duplicate memorials, missing memorials, memorials with very little data listed, in some cases names misspelled, and incorrect information. We are trying to improve the memorials listed here. Should everyone have additional data on any of the memorials that we manage, please provide to us and we will gladly add to the memorials in a timely manner. Please use the Edit Process. Thank you.

We would be very happy to transfer most non-family memorials that we manage as we have no wish to manage most non-family memorials. Just request via the Edit Process. We make transfers outside of FAG guidelines, just remember it does not hurt to ask.

Please do not create duplicate memorials in place of doing the Edit Process. Thank you.
