I have been working on my family tree for many years, starting with the death of my last grandparent in 1991. I realized then, how little I knew. Unfortunately, I began working on her family tree (my mother's side) instead of taking advantage of my last living ancestor, my father. My father died suddenly in 1998 before I had taken the opportunity to interview him. Left with only stories and myths I had to piece together my family history relying on a collection of unlabeled photographs from all of my grandparents. |
It has proven a very exciting and educational quest. Though we all know it has its bad side, Facebook has enabled me to trace living first cousins I never knew existed and many other distant relatives. We have exchanged photos, stories and strung together a coherent narrative with far fewer gaps that I would ever have thought possible.
I would like to stress the value of your living ancestors. Don't let your chance escape you, like I did mine. Also, use your role, to get the children educated and prepare a history to pass down to them.
Many thanks to the community of photographers and genealogists on findagrave.

I'm sorry, no relation. I just normally look up more info when I receive edits or see new listings. Just trying to fill in some more info since I have the sources readily available.

I posted her funeral notice. The memorial is now up
to date with correct information. You are welcome.
I posted a photo for Grace, but when I checked her memorial I saw another memorial for her and Wilbur Cramlett. So I deleted my photo.

I have found old newspaper articles relating to James and Ira. If you give me an email I will forward them on.

Sure and its nothing! Let you know.

I do not think so, but I will check for you and see what I can see! It is all very muddy, I do know that Ira (One of them) married my Aunt May, but I need to research more. I think it is strange that the the last name went from Cramblet to Cramlet. I will check more and get back to you! Happy Christmas!

It is Nellie, but buried so deep in the dirt we couldn't dig it out. We were able to get enough off to see the first name, but the picture is too dark.
