RE: Capt Henry Shepler
Hi Stephen,

You might try setting up a Facebook page for a descendant's group. I've seen others do this quite successfully.

Hi Stephen,

I elected to transfer this memorial to you, as I am not related and have no further information. He happens to be buried in the same cemetery as some of my ancestors. If you do not wish to manage it, feel free to transfer back or to someone else.

Sarah Elizabeth Day Lockard
I submitted an update today for Sarah (Day) Lockard. She applied for a mother's pension following the death of her son Samuel. The pension documents, available on Fold 3, state that she died March 28, 1896 in Summerfield, Marshall County, Kansas.

RE: Duplicate Memorial
Sorry didn't notice since the original Find A Grave record was named incorrectly. I have deleted the duplicate and sent you the correct naming convention.

Thank You for such a quick reply. Of course I didn't know Ann or her husband either, I feel as if I knew my Great Grandmother & her Mother because my maternal Grandmother had so many photos of them both and all of their memorabilia. My Grandmother got me started doing Family History back in the 1970s and I now have all of it in my house. Now am into the computer since the late 1980s, trying to keep track of it in RootsMagic since they did the best job of transferring from Family Tree Maker when they abandoned us. But working with these newspaper clippings and the clue about the Kansas connection I worked back from the person I found in Findagrave and your entries gave me the connection for sure. I have worked with Census but not on that particular line. However one cousin once joked with me about working with the Phetteplace surname that it would drive me crazy:) Most of my helpers have been from a generation before me whom I have known and are now gone. Someone like yourself is keeping me from doing the crazy part, however, at least so far:)

#72449161. and her husband James Orice Phetteplace as well as her sister Christina Moore Phetteplace must be in your Family History. I wanted to Thank You for the entering of these people. I had a note from a 1922 newspaper that has made me wonder about the for a long time. It was in the same column about the funeral being attended by a Mrs. Melvin Walker and a Mrs. Moore. The funeral was that of my maternal Great Grandmother Mary M. McNitt in July 1922. Mary M. McNitt's Mother was Serua PHETTEPLACE Harris.
The item was that Julien (sic) Phetteplace had rec'd word of the death of his brother "Orris," Phetteplace in Smithville, Kansas in a Tornadoe.Every once in awhile I work on some of the notes I have from various sources. The Phetteplace in NY State, Chenango co. was large and I have had the pleasure to even know some of them from family reunions. Was very pleased to see the photo you placed as well.

RE: Duplicate Memorial
Then please correct the name. There is a place to put the maiden name.
