I live in Fayetteville, NC and understand what it means to get or need a photo of a relatives grave. Mine all started when I put in my application for the Daughters of the Confederacy. Boy what a long process it has been, mainly because record keeping was not as it is today. Grave markers are a good resource! Taking pictures of gravestones and making memorials is very important to me. I myself know that I cant get to my loved ones graves in other states and every now and then I log on and take a look at their headstone. Im grateful to have had a wonderful person take the photos for me. I also believe our loved ones need another way to be remembered. Let me know if I can help in my area in any way. |
As of Jan 2012 my son started doing this with me and he is enjoying it. We are excited about helping folks out in the NC area (Fayetteville) or places we may travel. If there is ever a memorial or photo someone does not want on this site of their loved one that I have, please just let me know. PLEASE KNOW THAT WHEN WE GO TO CEMETERIES THAT HAVE VERY OLD HEADSTONES, WE USE SIDEWALK CHALK IN ORDER TO GET A CLEARER IMAGE. This has been a great way to get pictures without ruining a loved ones head stone because it washes right off. Most of the time it works but we have come across a few headstones where we could not get impressions and we are truly sorry.

I have requested an edit to her year of death and wanted you to know the reason. Records created by someone for the cemetery she is buried have 1918. There is no headstone that is known of there. The memorial headstone with her husband has 1915. A telegraph to him of her death has surfaced and she died at 4:30 pm July 18, 1915.
If you need a copy of this I am happy to share it with you.

I have pictures of the headstone, but the dates are not correct. The grave has Nov 19 1823 to Oct 20 1863.
Manning is not a common name, but not sure this is the same person.
Let me know.

Denise--I am planning a trip to NC this summer and want to visit these graves--they are my great grandparents. How hard is the cemetery to find and how hard to find the headstones--overgrown--exactly what will I be running into? Thank you for any information and for the pictures! Virginia Haywood Weddington
I am the Great Great granddaughter of this person. Please email me. I have information about her and questions for you.

Hi Denise. I'm your Aunt Patsy's Husband and I am working on a family tree website and saw the death certificate you have posted on Find-A-Grave. If you have the actual certificate, I'd like to get a digital copy of it if you don't mind. Your Uncle L.D. is coming in this weekend and he is bringing a lot of photos so that we can scan them. I'll be happy to share what ever we have. Thanks

On the memorial for AJ Jackson (Adams Cemetery in Hope Mills, NC Cumberland County, Find A Grave Memorial# 86053099, you have listed two wives. One is listed as Bittey Lane Jackson Sept. 15, 1861 d. June 3, 1956 and the other as Rittey Lane Jackson b. Sept. 15, 1861 d. June 3, 1936. In the photos of the two women's headstones, they appear to be the same headstone. Yes, one does look like a 3 and one like a 5 on the death date. But, it appears the chalk helped clarify the date. When looking at the immediate background, the same flower appears on the left side and the same bunch of flowers on the right side.
Don't you think these are the same headstone and same person just that the date was not as clear before it was cleaned and chalked?

Thanks for the transfers!

Could you tell me where you got the photo of John T and Candacy Roberts that you added to their page? He is my 4gr grandfather and I am trying to find a picture of his son Isham who is my 3gr grandfather. I am a member of the SCV under Isham's service as a confederate soldier. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

With the listing you have for a Bittey Lane Jackson is should be spelled Rittey Lane Jackson instead. She would have been married to Allan/Allen J. Jackson to which would be my 1st cousin 4 times removed.
Thanks for any help,
