|MichelleW||RE: Rotherham Tomb in St. Roch, NOLA|
Hi, I actually do not know anything about the Trapps or Gaynors. The Rotherhams are one of my lines. I know that there are still Rotherhams living in the New Orleans area, I was communicating with a distant cousin who lives in the area for a bit.
Good luck with your search!

If you put in the google search engine
Genweb Orleans Parish archives you will find the old web page with the list of cemeteries on it. Click on St. Roch and it will bring you to a page with interment records, and burial cards also map of the cemetery. A group of people did a lot of work to transcribe all this to the web but sadly it is hard to search. So after my husband and I photographed the entire cemetery I am going photo by photo finding the burial card (their pretty much in order with the photos of course) and I create the memorials of people who are not listed on the vaults or tombs but are buried there along with those of course who are listed. The burial card shows who is buried in that vault or tomb and the date they were buried on although after looking up some of the older death records to compare to the burial dates many are the same dates so either they really put them in the vaults quick after death or it was a way to just track when they were buried using the death date. Many times the burial card also has age so you can figure out when they were born but if they do not I go then to the interment records which show the same information and get the age at death from there. Each source (burial cards b/c or interment records i/r) have errors so I try to check any thing that looks odd or if there are two versions of spelling and check death records or birth records if I have them to try and get the spelling close to what the person might of used themselves. I have been working on this a couple of months now off and on so have to stop the individual researching (my favorite part of this work) and just post the photos and create the memorials. I am not from here and will be here at least another six months so I am trying to get as much done as I can. If I get the photos all up on this cemetery, take any retakes that are needed, then I can move to Cem#2 next and see if we can photograph all of that one and get it up on the web. I can work on the researching and further expanding on the memorials even if I move away but the photos are the most important thing right now while I am living here.
So with that I wish you well and hope you find more on your family they have so many records here in NOLA, much more than other places I have lived you are very lucky. I don't know if you live in NOLA but maybe a trip to the library or archives might be worth while and let those professionals guide you in what records may be of use to you. I would look for yearbooks or any clubs they were members of for photos. Also contact any other researchers who are working on your lines they may have photos from family gatherings or letters you never know.

There is a FREE web site the state has www.sos.la.gov it has indexes for birth, death, marriage but limited which can aid you in your research. You might also consider contacting the memorial owner she may have more information on the family. There is also another free web site Familysearch.org
Also if I have the memorial I put if the person is listed on the front of the vault/tomb or not but I could not do it for your family since I did not create the memorial but no your family is not listed on the front of the tomb if they were I would of taken a close up so you could read it.
That is all I have and hope this helps you.
|Mike & Bushy Hartman||RE: Photo o grave for Julia Gaynor Trapp|
Hi if you put the names in to find a grave search you will see all their memorials but someone else already made them so i cannot post to them except photos. I did post the photos and put a caption under each photo like burial date and age at death. Her brother nelson also is buried on the same vault.

Just posted a photo of the tomb to her memorial on Find A Grave if you would like to download it.
