Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been doing genealogy daily since 1988. Find-a-Grave memorials have been a big help in putting my family tree together. So thank you, contributors!

If you wish to have a memorial transferred to you, I will probably be more than willing if your relationship is closer than mine. Just ask by using the edit tab on that person's page.

NOTE: REGARDING THE SOCIAL SECURITY DEATH INDEX (SSDI) - These records do not show the actual place of death, and the actual place should not be based solely on the SSDI. What the SSDI shows is either/or the last residence or last benefit. These are definitely clues, but sometimes people die a long way from home, especially during these modern times covered by the SSDI.

Transfer complete! I ask 2 things in return; if you decide to become inactive, I would like it back--I'm very interested in the people living in early Anchorage. And the second is, add a few more memorials (or photos) to Findagrave! Have a wonderful weekend.

RE: John Soderberg, Find A Grave Memorial# 111008701
Hi Virginia,
The photo is not the problem. These are headstones made of concrete sitting face up in the elements. Mr. Soderberg past in 1939 which means his marker has been there for almost 80 years. A lot of the markers in all of the sections are unreadable. Looking at Mr. Soderberg's marker I can make out most of his name which is more than I can say for some.
Thank you for giving to Find A Grave.

RE: Elsie Johnson
Done. I also took a photo of the James C. Johnson in Evergreen although again the dates of birth and death are different. I can also upload that one if you like

Elsie Johnson
Hi, Virginia:

I went to Evergreen Memorial Park in Merced to take a photo of Elsie Johnson's stone. I found one in the location described next to James C. Johnson but the dates of birth and death are different. Date of birth 1917 and date of death 1978. Additionally the name on the stone is Elsie J. Johnson.

The dates on James C. Johnson's stone are also different from the memorial.(1917-1979) I did take photos but since the dates are so far off, I did not want to post them. Please advise. Thank you

Joseph W Still #86150021
Hello Virginia,

I stumbled upon actually Marnissa Burham's memorial and thought she was married to a different Samuel Still. My grandmother was a Still, down from a long line of Stills starting with Samuel Still and Martha Stevenson. I am curious that I have never found this Joseph W Still in my family tree (as of yet) and I was just wondering who his father and mother were? I thought I had everyone but it looks like no I do not. Do you know who his parents were? And since you claim him as a grandfather we must be related somewhere.

Thanks for any information you provide.

RE: Elsie Elizabeth (World) Johnson
I did find her, and have one thing to say. Fifty bucks says she is not at Evergreen. That is the most messed up cemetery I have EVER seen. My late mother-in-law worked there, the stories would curl your hair.

Problem being there is a record, in the Evergreen vaults, of her being buried there. The cemetery doesn't seem to know the difference between buying a plot and eventually being buried there. So, if I delete the memorial, someone else will replace it. I am going to do some adding to the bio to tall this, unlink her from hubby, and make notes everywhere. BUT, I have to wait until I get home to a decent computer. Fear not, I shall link him properly

Thank you for all you do!!!!!!
