Hopefully I have improved the number of entries and photos in the Graves County, Kentucky area, along with updating GPS coordinates on the cemeteries. If you have someone who needs a new photo or a cemetery that needs an updated photo feel free to contact me. |
If I took a photo of your family member, then it is yours to do with as you wish. I have found this important for people using Ancestry or other sites, many people don't like you using their photos...you are free to use mine. This is our history which is public knowledge.
If you already have a stone set with your name on it in any graveyard, then it's possible you will be on this web site with an unknown death date and it's a normal occurrence.
Depending on the time of day you are in a graveyard greatly determines the quality of pictures, if I have too many on there just let me know and I'll remove some.
I am also diligently trying to link the family members together. I encourage your help and participation.
I will happily hand over any profile I create, if they are not directly related to me. I had rather family OR someone with an interest in the family, manage the memorials, just ask for it thru the edit tab and give me your link number (or I will not know who to transfer it to).
Not everyone has a paid ancestry account, so information is very valuable to me and many others.
FAG Edit Processing Instructions
Are you aware there is an edit page? Most people are not. Myself, I prefer edits be sent this way because it makes it so much easier when you manage a bunch of memorials and the messages don't end up in someone's spam folder either. All you have to do is click one link at the bottom of the page that says approve, and it makes the changes to all of them.
How to get there:
Click on your own name. You do have to be signed in to see this.
Along the top, right under your name & FindAgrave member number, is a row of tabs--profile, messages, edits, contributor tools, and edit profile. If you have edits awaiting approval, there will be a number in parentheses showing in that middle edit tab, just click it and it will show them all to you. You can approve them or not right from here, with just one click of the button for all of them. It also has a drop down list so you can see ones you have sent, got approved or got denied. This saves a ton of time.
Check yours...researchers depend on these edits getting processed for parental and spouse links, corrections of dates, typos, etc.

|Mary Brook||Martha Mack Higgins|
Thank you for your work contributing photos. The photo of the headstone of John Higgins and Martha Mack Higgins may be of my late husband's g-grandparents. The dates seem about right and all the other Higgins in Maplewood are family memebers. The only fly in the ointment is that Martha Higgins has the surname "Mack" on the headstone. As far as I know the Martha Higgins who married John Higgins in 1855 was a Gardner. Is this a different couple or did Martha marry a Mack in the time between her husband's death and her own? If anyone has information about this I would appreciate knowing about it.
|ST||RE: Effie Wiley and Zilphia Taylor|
Yes, Effie is a Taylor. Her mother is Zilphia. Effie is my grandmothers sister. Zilphia had 3 girls, Susie Taylor Peyton, Bessie Thomas Taylor Timmons (my grandmother) and Effie Taylor Wiley. Zilphia's 3 boys are Vernie E. Taylor, Charlie Boone Taylor and Floyd Taylor. I am having a hard time locating where Zilphia's husband, William Thomas Taylor is buried. He is found in limited records. I have a copy of their marriage license from April 1879, listing his name as WT Taylor. I cannot locate a reliable 1880 census record that fits the situation. Then by 1900, Zilpha (sp) is now a widow. According to all the children's death certificates, they list their fathers name as Tom Taylor, Thomas Taylor, WT Taylor, William Taylor. If you have any suggestions on locating William T Taylor, I would greatly welcome them! Thanks!

Hello Mrs. Fenton,
I am researching the Miller and Williams families. On James K. Miller's gravestone, it said he was 39 years 7 months and 27 days at the time of his death on January 20, 1885. That would have made his birthdate 3-23-1845. Please see the following:
I am committed to accuracy in my research and find it hard to believe that there is so much inaccuracy--especially in "Family Tree" information. I am always happy to hear from and work with other researchers in this field.

Mary is my 3rd great grandmother but I have not been able to find anything on her parents. I am still looking. Her son, Robert Andrew Madding, is my 2nd great grandfather.
Thanks for your help.

You post on Find A Grave, a Mary J Mading in the Trinity Cemetery in Graves county, KY. Mary is my 3rd great grandmother. She was married to Robert A Mading (Madding) and I cannot find where he is buried. I believe he died sometime prior to 1870. Are you near Trinity Cemetery? I wonder if he is buried there and noone has found him.
Please let me know if you can help. I live in Texas.
