Elizabeth Bubb, Floyd Cemetery
Hi ~ thought I'd contact you directly about your photo request for Elizabeth Bubb in Floyd Cem, Sioux City. I have photographed that entire section (A), but did not find a stone for Elizabeth or J.B. I did check the cemetery record to answer the question you attached to the request regarding her age, and did find that. It had 77 yrs, date of death or burial 2/15/1926. (it could be either). Hope that helps!

RE: Eylar Family
Matthew Sample Eylar was my Great-Great-Grandma Jennies' brother; I had heard stories from my Grandpa Swartz about them visiting Uncle Matt in Florida.

Eylar Family
Hello, I noticed that you were also looking for photo requests for some Eylars in the Denton Cemetery, so I thought I would touch base. My great-great-grandma Jennie was an Eylar before she married Christian Swartz.

RE: Elizabeth Elyar Meeks.
Each photo I have uploaded is already labeled in the caption. The only way to see the caption is to click on the photo to view the full image, and the caption will appear at the bottom. However some people like to add an additional note in the biography section. It is perfectly acceptable to write a short paragraph telling who is in the photo. The main thing is to record the history of a person, but you can always add more facts at any time.

Archer photos
Hello Angela,

Three more Archer portraits located and uploaded onto Findagrave: Hester Archer Williams, Alice Archer Eylar, Sarah Archer Heastan.

When I uploaded the portrait for Sarah Heastan, I was unaware that you had a volunteer request for a headstone photo, and my portrait photo cancelled it out. You will have to renew the request for the grave photo. Sorry for the trouble.

RE: Archer/Gardner Photos
Angela, you are quite welcome to use the photos. Thank you for asking.

I am still sorting through this archive, and I will let you know if any other Archer photos are discovered. I might have one of the daughters. It is important to me to get these images uploaded so that they are not lost to history. Everytime I walk into an antiques store I see old photo albums and tintypes of people who are not identified. It makes me feel so sad because someone is probably looking for them.

Archer/Gardner Photos
The photos I have are copies, but they have hand-written notations on the back. The writing is that of my cousin, Maurice Farrar. This is how I knew who they were. I included the written information in the photo caption. The only additional notation was the word "confirmed" which was my cousin's way of indicating he verified the portrait. I have another 400 or so photos to go through, some of which are not labeled. I might have a portrait of the second wife, but if there is no label I will not be able to identify her. Many of these portraits have studio marks from Kansas photographers, and I remain hopeful that I can find one.

Question: my label shows the maiden name as "Gardiner" not "Gardner." I am not making a correction, just pointing out the discrepancy.

George Jonathan Archer

You have a created a very nice memorial for George Jonathan Archer. I happen to possess photographs (copies) of George, and one of his first wife Elizabeth. There is a chance I might have a photo of the second wife as well. None of mine are originals, but sometimes any image is better than none. I am indirectly related to George, but my elderly cousin (now deceased) was a Farrar, and he had a good collection of photos which I am now trying to post to Findagrave.

Thank you for taking the time to make an excellent memorial.
