Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been doing genealogy on my COOPER and NOVAK lines for going on ten years now but only recently came across the Find a Grave website while researching my Great(x3) Grandfather. And I'm very glad I did! This is a fantastic idea!

I've found existing gravesites of ancestors I had been searching for and added new gravesites of relatives to the existing Find A Grave database. I still have missing ancestors in my tree but I'm hoping that as Find A Grave grows, they too will eventually be found.

My job affords me quite a bit of free time so I am eager to help others with their inquiries just as this website has helped me.

Hi Scott,

My name is Pam Eberly Gonzales and would like to see if you can help me out. My great grandmother and gr gr grandmother and other relatives are buried in the Linney Cemetery in Dayton. I was wondering if you could send me the picture of the marker listing the unmarked graves. The names I am looking for are
Sadie P. Sweeney Towler died July 1914 LA gr grandmother
Motile Ophelia Creighton Sweeney died ?? gr gr grandmother
Willie Sweeney child age 5

If you could tell me where else to look for information on them would be grateful There are no death certificates on them.

Thank you

Hi Scott,
I'm a descendant of the Coopers through Sarah Frances Adams, daughter of Henry James Adams and Pricey A. Cooper. I'd love to share information and photos.

RE: Hope Hull Cooper
Hello, Scott. The only thing I can find out about the exodus is that a hurricane hit Orange County in September 1865 and destroyed all but a few houses. The spelling "Adelude" comes from the 1860 Census. In the Jasper County Marriage Records and in the Orange County Brand Book, the name is spelled as "Adelaide", so I think that is the correct spelling. Her brand was a Diamond "A" and Henry's was a Square "A". She even had her own earmark for hogs. The farm in Orange County is still known as the "Henry J. Adams Abstract"; only one person lives on the property. The "Cornelius Cooper" abstract is just down the road. Some Coopers still live in Orange County. Since Uriah was once the Postmaster in East Bernard, he is probably buried there somewhere. Please send me the pictures you have. Thanks, Alvin.

RE: Hope Hull Cooper
Thank you, Scott. I have made the correction. Hope Hull Cooper was my fourth great-grandfather. My third great-grandfather, Henry J. Adams, who was married to Hope's daughter Pricey Adelaide Cooper, is buried in the same cemetery along with his son Henry J. Adams Jr. I have never been able to find Adelaide's burial place or date of death. Another mystery is why the Adams and Cooper families abrubtly left Orange County after 1865,abandoning large farms, and moved to Wharton County, where Henry died at a young age. Perhaps you may know something about this. Thanks for contacting me.

Your cousin, Alvin.
