I was searching for an ancestor's grave and ran across two memorials that appear to be for the same person. Memorials 93915222 and 159055165. The latter has a photo of Mr. Colburn and much more information. I thought since you created one of the memorials you might want to check it out.
I think the narrative for Rosalie Hockett (#74642117) actually belongs to Florence Hockett (#182680259)

yes apparently at the time some of the graves were transferred to over to the Notre Dame des Neiges cemetery (1854 -present time) etc --but I think that you had to have Money to do that .. so not very many were transferred-- plus some of these graves are VERY VERY old .. so I guess there was not much left to transfer .
and back then there they did not think about historical preservation either . The reason why they moved the cemeteries was because of lack of space and the city was growing larger ..

it is just to let you know that unfortunately this cemetery does NOT exist today . It lies beneath the cobblestones of Old Montreal . It was used for catholic montrealers between 1654-1799. so your ancestor was definitely buried there.
but there are no tombstones to be found anymore.
I have put a map of the cemetery where it was situated at that time in relation to the church (which is still in existence today )

Thank you for the transfer of my grandfather's memorial to me. I was named after him but never met him--he died 20 years before I was born.

|Karen Marrall||John Duffy from Bisbee|
Thank you so much for sending the 1900 article from Bisbee regarding Mr. John Duffy's death in Hot Springs, Arkansas. We are actively working with preservation authorities and the city trying to save this cemetery. The information in the article not only confirms the death books, but also gives great insight into the long gone hospital that was on the grounds. Is there any way to send a link to that article, or a screen shot of it? I want to send it to the Arkansas Historic Preservation program and the archaeology society with documentation. This cemetery could end up on the national registry- That's what we're hoping for.
