Find A Grave is an excellent resource for family research and genealogy. And it's Free to anyone! This is thanks to the many, many volunteers who have created countless numbers of memorials to this site. And they do this as a labor of love. |
Also here, the "Virtual Cemetery" is so great to save your memorials of interest. As you can see, I have created my own for each branch of my family past.
Not all of the memorials that I have created are kinfolk, but for the most part, I am searching for and adding my kin that I know are missing. I have included my kinship to my virtual flowers so that other relatives can contact me.
The Family Names that I am researching are:
1) Lindsey, Cummins, Wilson, Peeler (Attala Co. and Oktibbeha Co. MS);
2) Seeger (AZ), Trimm, Tomlin (Fayette/Lamar Co Ala);
3) Burns, Shelton, Goodman (Lamar & Pickens Co ALA and Lowndes Co MS);
4)Williams, (Harrison Co MS), Cartrett (SC & Honey Island, Texas), Powell (Fla) Valdez,(LA Calif).
5) I also have a great interest in the local history of Lowndes County, Mississippi. I have found the Rueben C Littleton family from Tenn - early settlers of the now vanished Townships of Colbert / Barton / Vinton, Lowndes Co Miss. (Present day Clay County) to be of great interest. Vinton Cemetery and Columbus Air Force Cemetery are where many of the Littleton family and kin rest.
I live in Columbus, Lowndes Co, MS.
Please feel free to contact me regarding any of my family names or memorials that I have created.

|Felicia W||RE: Minnie Mae Poss Cummins|
Thanks! I look forward ti hearing from you!
|Felicia W||Minnie Mae Poss Cummins|
I've just finished entered the memorial for Minnie Poss Cummins (#167654836) in Garden Point, Etowah, Arkansas. What research I have done finds her the wife of John L. Cummins, (1905-?), mother to Johnny Louise (1925-2001) and Lynwood Dee Cummins (1933-2000).. She was listed as Minnie Causey on their marriage license.
I do believe I have found Johnny Louise #49246808 and Lynwood Dee. #11460752.
On Lynwood's memorial I see a note that you left that his parents are Johnny and Ella. I am finding that Johnny A and Ella are the parents of his father, Johnny L. They also had a daughter Ella as well.
I have found your memorial for Johhny A. in Pleasant Ridge. My g. & gg-grandfathers are buried their, as well as many other kin!
I'd like to link the entire family, but I hesitate to do so if my research through Ancestry is incorrect. Perhaps there is something I'm overlooking? I was hoping you might provide some insight!

That is so cool! Thanks for thinking of me and passing on the info Re Crigler and also the Library of Congress site. I have been using that one for a while now. But, today when I got your message I checked out the paper you were referring to for the Crigler death and then decided to have another look around because it has been a few months. And I found three new mentions in Columbus and in Aberdeen!

Re: Jason Cornelius Crigler, Jr. -- Death Sunday, June 30th, 1912 ... 20 month old son of Jason Crigler and Clara Weaver. Grandparents Mr & Mrs BB Weaver of Dunbar. Mr & Mrs Crigler along with their daughter Fannie Hardy accompanied the body to Brightwood, VA for burial in the Crigler Family burying ground.
Thank you for the info, but is there a Find A Grave Memorial this should be posted too ??? Or is this something I may have asked about at one time ??? (I forget these things sometimes). :-)

If you will call the Crestwood Cemetery office (256-492-5430)and get the grave location, I will fulfill the photo request. The cemetery office charges non-relatives $20 for a location or I would ask them myself. You can email me at email@example.com when you get the Section number and lot number.

WOW, THANK YOU SO MUCH.
THESE FOLKS ARE ON MY GASKINS SIDE THROUGH MY DAD.
HIS PARENTS WERE FROM SC.
MOST OF MY RESEARCH IS ON FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT THE FAMILIES & NOT NUMBERS. IF I SEE A CONNECTION I WILL REQUEST IT EVEN IF ITS NOT RELATED TO ME.

|Tara Clardy||Crestwood Cemetery Request|
I am a volunteer and attempted to locate the grave you listed at Crestwood Cemetery in Gadsden Alabama. I was told it would cost me $20 per grave that I requested the location of. But, It would be free to family members. If you would be willing to call them and request the location yourself and message me the information, I would be happy to get the photo for you. I already have a map of the cemetery.
