Confederate Veteran
Dear Sir, I am Anthony Smith in the John A Lisk camp Sons of Confederate Veterans out of Montgomery County actually the Asheboro camp commander Dwain Roberts put me on this mission.I have heard there is a Black Confederate Veteran buried at Suggs Creek. The story is the black churches would not have him because he was Confederate.I guess he had friends mabe other veterans mabe former owners at Suggs Creek.Do you know anything about this ? Could you ask anyone about it . We would like to put up a new marker if he needs one and have a short service for him . We would do the same for any white veterans if their family does not object.I have Beane and Lucas ancestors myself.I was there today in a white chevy blazer. Thank you for your time. Anthony Smith

Zaccheus Boroughs
I've just found the headstone for Zaccheus Boroughs. His son was named Bryan. Zaccheus d. 1860 and is buried on property owned by Roland Phillips. Sarah Frances Boroughs married Daniel Phillips, their only son was named Bryan, lived and died in Bonlee, Chatham County. From these links I feel there is a connection between Zaccheus and Edmond M. Boroughs, Sarah Boroughs father. Any info is appreciated. Beth bchuck@comporium.net

Sarah Frances Boroughs
Sarah Frances was born in April 1834 - given or take a month. She was the daughter of Edmond M. Boroughs (b. 1800/01) and Martha.
In 1850 Edmond was 49/50 yrs old and Martha 34 yrs (b. 1816).

1850 family lived in Chatham County - Bear Creek area. I'm trying to locate a cemetery for the Boroughs
In 1850 Sarah was 17 yrs and just married to Daniel Seal Phillips of Chatham County. They lived with her parents.
By 1860 Census - no record of Sarah or Daniel.
She reappears in 1880 Census and 1900 Census (age 66) still married.
I'm assuming they were buried in Chatham County.

Any help on Sarah is appreciated. She was my Gr4 grandmother.

I've made the updates you requested for Bryon Tedder. Thank you for the additional information. If you would like, I can transfer it to you. He is no relation to me. I just imported that cemetery information. Deborah

Boroughs/Burroughs family
Hi,
I believe we have a family connection through this line. My ggg-grandfather Reuben Boroughs was the son of Zacheus and brother to John (father of Elisha). I'd love to share info and also I'd like to ask permission to post your photos of Burroughs/Boroughs headstones on my tree at Ancestry. Thank you for your consideration.
