Bio Photo I'm a 66-year-old retired teacher with a passion for genealogy. I've been at it since 1998. Since retiring in December 2005, I've worked part-time in the genealogy division of our local library. Ours ranks among the very top of California's genealogical collections.

Of course, most of us have sixteen great-great-grandparents. Two of mine were descended from numerous English families who sailed to New England beginning in the 1630s. My other great-great-grandparents came to America during the period between 1846 and 1872. Five of these came from Sweden, three from Norway, two from Ireland, two from Luxembourg, and two from Canada.

RE: Thank you!
Yes, it's a total coincidence that I started looking through my memory cards tonight to see what I still needed to upload; I came across one for Ramsayville and then noticed your photo request! Brilliant. Glad I can help. I'm working on the cemetery now so stay tuned!

photo request for Verl Prentice
I have photographed the entire Riverside cemetery and posted the photos on Find A Grave. If there is no photo for Verl it probably means there either is no stone or that it has sunk and been covered with dirt and grass or a shrub has grown over it. You need to contact the cemetery and find out where she was buried and post the location. If I have a location I'll check that area and do some probing.

RE: Minnie Mathilda Anderson Peterson
Hi Jan,

Thank you for the information. I will see if I can track down the Petersons.

RE: Minnie Mathilda Anderson Peterson
Hi Jan,
Thank you for responding. Do you know where you found the "History of Carol Gustaf Nilsson?" I found some information on a board in regarding Minnie Anderson. S Peterson commented that he had pictures of John and Signe with Minnie taken over the years. I sent a message to him. His post was made in 2000 so I don't know if I will hear back.

Again, thank you for responding.

Minnie Mathilda Anderson Peterson

I am the great, great-granddaughter of John C. and Signe Knutson, my father Willis Knutson,great-grandparents. I just read the life story of Minnie on the Find A Grave site. It mentions that she was adopted by the Knutsons and it mentions some pictures of Minnie with her "Grandma." I was wondering if it is possible that you would share o a picture or two with me.

Thank you so much,

Lowell Noack
Hello Jan,
I'm also a retired educator one year older than you. You caught me at a weak moment. I will transfer Lowell Noack to you with one basic request - that you transfer this memorial to anyone who would be a relative within the guidelines of Find A Grave. I recognize how important those extended "family members" are to many of us. I enjoyed seeing the photo of Lowell and your parents on the memorial. ~Terry

RE: Sorry, Nathan!
I will transfer the Brooks to you too if you want them. I am not related in any way.

RE: Thanks so much, Nathan,
Sure, I'll get the pictures. I know right where they are, the Brooks that is.
I'll be going up to the cemetery in a day or two.
Could you do me a favor and put in a request for pictures of Mary Pennoyer Brooks' grave too?

Re: Matthew Stevens Memorial
Jan, I decided to transfer the memorial of Matthew Stevens to you. This is exactly why I am a member of findagrave, to be able to locate graves of family members for others and to transfer memorials to family/friends. I will let you add the information to his memorial. He sounds like he was a wonderful person.
