I am an 11th generation descendant of Richard Cantril of Derbyshire England who came to America about 1682. I began researching my family in 2009 and would like to collaborate with others who have ties with Cantrell's of Greenville Co. SC. The past six generations of my direct line have resided in the Hendersonville, NC and River Falls, SC areas and my family still owns property in River Falls dating back to the 1850s.

RE: Isaac Cantrell
lol..Yes, I know, but bare in mind, Isaac born in 1733 (proven) he would of been 16 or 17 when he married Talitha Cloud (no marriages was recorded in North Carolina in those days in those years) and if it was true then he wouldn't had any children with her. His first child with Elizabeth was circa 1752...Talitha Cloud came from one source in 1929 by Union Bethel who also stated that Jospeh was married Catharina Heath (has been disproven) and that Mary was a daughter of Isaac who married Sampson Bethel (also proven Isaac did not have a daughter, Mary) email is am very much aware of all the Talitha Cloud statments what are their sources??? wowuld like to hear from you

John Lydle/Lidel Cantrell
Hi Frank - I have lost your message on my email and I thought I would pass this along to you before I take my computer to be repaired. Do not know how long that will take.
From Betty Barnard's notes:
"John Lydel Cantrell is buried in Gap Creek Cemetery, no headstone according to Dewey Cantrell, a cousin."

Also, according to the death certificate for him signed by Dill Cantrell, he is buried at Gap Creek.

If you could contact Gap Creek Church or go up there they might have an idea of where his gravesite is located. If you find out, would you share with me?

Hi Frank,

You may contact me at beaglesforme at gmail dot com. I think I may have a bit of information. Luda was my great grandmother. I do have a few pictures of John (her husband) that I will share with you.

William Barton
Thanks for the prompt to add the additional information on William Barton. I had it in my tree but hadn't gotten around to adding it. I am not descended from him. I descended from his brother, Thomas Barton, who is my 4th great grandfather. If you would like I will transfer William's memorial page to you.
