|I was born in Flensburg, MN, during 1938 and grew up there. I'm submitting basic information on the two cemeteries located in or very near Flensburg, both associated with the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the only church in town. The original Sacred Heart Cemetery is located a few blocks east of the church but has not been used for several decades, having been replaced by the current Sacred Heart Cemetery on a hill about 0.8 miles south of town.|
Most of the work in obtaining gravestone information from both cemeteries was done during 1997 and 1998 by Lois Stavish and Renalda Poser, both living in Morrison County. They laboriously filled out a standard form (page) for each of the hundreds of graves. These original forms are available at the Morrison County Historical Society in Little Falls, MN. They contain more detailed information than I'm submitting such as exact cemetery coodinates for each grave, drawings of gravestones, their dimensions, etc.
It is gratefully acknowleged that this project is a cooperative one with the Morrison County Historical Society which allowed me to photograph each form so the basic information could be entered into a spreadsheets, one for each cemetery. In addition, on October 7, 2010, I photographed each gravestone in the current cemetery with a date of death more recent than 1997 to make all information current as of that time. I've since attempted to follow more recent published obituaries of Flensburg Cemetery burials and include them in this database, but some may have been missed.
Any comments, corrections or suggestions are welcome.

|Gregory Aanenson||Mina Helene Skattum Johnson Memorial|
Would you please provided documentation on Mina's death location.
I'm unable to find any information on her death in Rock County or in the South Dakota Death Index.
Is it possible that she died in Iowa?

|Grave Walker(L Kopet)||RE: edits to Kopet memorials|
thank you for the reply. I would love to get a copy of the Kopet tree you are working on. I have a Kopet family tree going back to Europe (Czeh) in the 1700 that I am willing to trade.

Thank you for transfer of Antoni and Lucia Kulesza.
Your work on FindAGrave is much appreciated.

Sobieski could be what the death certificate reads. I'll have to snoop around. I know I photographed any headstones in the old cemetery when I visited there last time and entered them in Find-a-Grave but if his headstone is missing I wouldn't have known. There is almost 10 years difference in their death dates so I'll give Sobieski a look.

Hi Arlen, I have a copy of Anton Knopik's death certificate but when I look at where he is buried I really can't make out the cemetery name. Mary his wife is buried at the Old Sacred Heart Cemetery. Do you happen to know if that is where he is buried? If you want let me know and I'll email the death certificate for Anton to you and see if you can make out the name of the cemetery.
Deb Ann Hamernick
Thanks so much for the Hamernick transfers and for all your contributions to Find A Grave!

You posted a picture for Frank Borash (d.1927) who is buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Do you know if Frank was the son of Jacob and Anna (Knopik) Borash? Thanks in advance for your help!
