|Most of my research is my paternal side: Davis, McGowan, Ruckel, Weagar, Crippen, Brewer, Shanafelt, Mathis, Cowden, Plough, Sweetman, Waltman and Cook and related. My father's side is from NY, PA, MI, and OH. My maternal side is from GA and includes Mathis, Riner, Downs, Tapley and related. |
I have two Facebook groups and I invite all related to join. One is "Davis Weagar McGowan Ruckel and more" and the other is "Riner Mathis Downs Tapley and more".
I inherited a lot of old photos. As I go through them and identify, I will add them to Find A Grave and to Ancestry.com. If I have a photo you want, you are welcome to "steal" it. I want to preserve these old photos and getting them out to as many people as possible is the best way. If you take one of my photos please email me with your relationship. Thanks!
While researching my own family I sometimes come across a death certificate, photo or information about non-relatives. When I do, I look for the person on Find A Grave. If there is an existing memorial, I request edits or add the photos. If there isn't an existing memorial, I create one if I have enough information.
I always enjoy meeting cousins and I welcome contact from anyone!

I noticed the flowers you left for your 1st cousin, 2x removed, Charles P. Wagar. I am a distant cousin on his wife's side (through the Obermiller's). Do you have any really old pictures of the Wagar/Obermiller family? I think pictures "speak a thousand words", and it's so nice to see what our ancestors looked like. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

You're welcome Sharon! Very glad to help. I was hoping to find out if he was related to the Kirk family, which is buried to his right. It looks like his wife, Clara, died and was buried somewhere in Dexter, Michigan, but is not on Find A Grave. I've submitted the following to be added to the BIO on the memorial:
Civil War veteran, U.S. Army, Pvt, Co. C, 16th Infantry, MI 5-24-62, MO 5-24-65. Husband of Clara Victoria Chapman, married on 21 Apr 1883 in Dexter, Washtenaw, Michigan, USA.
I hope this helps. Best, Bill

You are quite welcome. I also took photos of Lawrence's wife's stone and Milnor Barber and his wife's stone. I didn't find a memorial for these three . If you would like to create a memorial for them I would gladly post the pictures. Milnor and his wife are buried next to Lawrence so I am assuming they are related. Have a great day. Susan.

I was happy to do it. Thank you for your kind words!

You are most welcome. I had to dig out the layer of lawn that had grown over the stone, so I apologize for the somewhat imperfect image.
I'm delighted to help.
