I was born and raised in Kanawha County, WV and have lived in North Texas since 1985. I am a retired RN and proud wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. |
When I travel, I try to visit local cemeteries to photograph gravestones for those unable to visit the graves of their relatives.
If you find a memorial of your relative, please do not hesitate to request that I transfer the memorial to you. I do not do this for numbers and am happy to do so.
I strive to link families together on Find a Grave as they were in life.
Researching McComas, Thomas, Williams and Loveday memorials and adding information that I may have discovered is a passion. My hope is that the information I submit will help another who is researching their ancestry in years to come.
You have my permission to use any gravestone photos that I have taken for your personal genealogical use. If you add it to your public family tree, I would appreciate credit for the photo.

You are very welcome, glad it worked out to get Laura's as well. I was able to fulfill 8 requests for Rabbit Flat today. My aunt & uncle, Leona Cockerel Raymer & Stoy Raymer are buried there. I also have family at Shrewsbury Cemetery.
Have a blessed day! Mary :)

Thanks for the info. I hope to get down there in the not too distant future, and when it stops raining for more than 5 minutes!

Hello. You've a photo request for Henry Peacock, at Lawnswood Cemetery, Leeds (UK). Do you have any dates for him - unless he's on the same headstone as one of the other 2 Peacocks? It's a big cemetery, and without a bit more info, may be impossible to find. Or to be sure it's the right one!

You are very welcome for the photos. It was a beautiful day out, even though it was only 34 degrees. I had several hours to spend before the Pittsburgh Steeler game. If I can be of further help let me know.

Your very welcome Nina. I looked before but I found it this time. I heard Hoberts' name alot growing up. Was he Melvin Hollaways' brother-in law?

In a small section of the Cemetery of St. John, Sunfish, about halfway back and on the south side near the fence, we found the graves of Elizabeth, Patsy Mudd Bratcher, and four of the children of James R. Durbin and Eliza Ann.
Elizabeth Durbin, February 2, 1785 - September 20, 1850.
Patsy, wife of John Bratcher, April 8, 1814 - September 10, 1858.
Martha Durbin, July 14, 1855 - July 17, 1855.
Marion Durbin, March 29, 1860 - October 9, 1861.
Josephine Durbin, born and died May 4, 1867.
Patsy Durbin, January 31, 1879 - February 4, 1879.

From a book by
James H Simon SUNFISH EDMONSON COUNTY KENTUCKY: OASIS OF CATHOLICISM: page 91, available at Amazon.com
"According to the Mudd Family book located at the Kentucky Historical Society in Frankfort, which book contains over 1,400 pages, Henry Mudd, born circa 1779, died circa 1820, was married to Elizabeth, daughter of Sarah Frame (Fraim) (this indicates Sarah's husband was already dead) in Washington County, Kentucky, September 10, 1808. The marriage was performed by Rev. S.L. Montgomery, R.C.P.
Henry Mudd and Elizabeth Frame (Fraim) were the parents of five children:
John, born circa 1811
Joseph, born circa 1813
Patsy, born April 8, 1814
Ambrose, born November 10, 1819.
After the death of Henry, Elizabeth moved to Grayson County and appeared on the tax list there in 1820. "

Nina thanks for the info on Henry Mccomas. He was my grandpa . Some of the info that is listed on finda grave in incorrect. He only had one brother. Aonzo Mccomas I have found on sites in the past that listed a Perry. But no one in the family seemed to know about him and also Henrys mother was Mary Susan Cremeans. I have a picture of Henrys headstone I will share it soon as I have time to find it...again thanks so much for the info
|Shirley Caudle Luckett||Photo Request - Milton Cemetery|
The following site has a listing of many cemeteries in Cabell County WV including Milton. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~wvcccfhr/index.htm
Webmaster indicates that they have photos of all headstones and can provide.
I'd suggest checking the website first then contacting the webmaster.
If this doesn't yield results, post another request indicating such and we'll take a drive out and walk the cemetery.
