I hate to say it but I cannot recollect where the info came from. I have it in a small tree I am compiling for a friend of mine, whose grandfather was Herman Charles Kleene (1880-1950), a brother of Gustav. She did lend me some family papers, so I may have copied the information from them. I returned them to her so cannot confirm. I find very little about Gustav on Ancestry or Family Search.

Capt John S Grant's child listed as David Edgar Grant in the 1850 and 1860 US census is actually Edgar D Grant, b.abt.1847-d.10 Mar 1923, who moved to Boston and surrounds, and who did not die at sea, but is buried in the North Beverly Cemetery, MA. He may have been known by his middle name as a child to avoid confusion with some other relative. Capt. John S. Grant's will can be located on ancestry.com. under, Maine Wills and Probate Records, 1584-1999-Knox>Vol 73-76-1896-1929. p.344-345. All John S Grant's surviving children are listed, and Edgar D Grant is named. The will was probated Dec. 18, 1900. Edgar D Grant married Mary E Tolman, b.abt.1850-d.1905, she was the daughter of Shepherd Huse Tolman b.1825-d.1889, and Irene Packard b.1827-d.1857. Edgar D Grant and Mary E Tolman had three children; Herbert Franklin Grant, Hattie Grant, and Fred Edgar Grant. Fred Edgar Grant, b.1886-d.1945, is buried next to his great-grandparents, Shepherd Tolman and Jane S Phinney Tolman at the West Rockport Cemetery.

|Norris Going||William Going question|
Cynthia- On Find A Grave 101133852 (William Going), you have noted that he is the son of Comfort and Olivia Going. I was wondering what the source of that piece of information is. I have been trying to do research on Bradford Going (born 1824 in Montville, ME) as some people have said he is a son of Comfort Going, but I have found no real data on Comfort. I am guessing William would be a brother or cousin to Bradford, but I'd be grateful for your source of info if it can lead me to more on Comfort Going. Thanks.
2nd great grandson of Bradford Going
