I have enjoyed searching my family's history since I was 14 years old. It has brought me to some wonderful places and I have met some great people along the way. My travels have taken me from New Hampshire, Maine, all of New England, to California (and in between), to Scotland, Wales and England. I take pride in verifying and documenting my findings. Some of my family names are: Purington / Purrington /Puddington (all variations of the name, Pray, Cheney, Hoitt / Hoyt, Littlefield, Bradbury, Wentworth, Boston, Blaisdell, Webster, Dustin, Brewster, and too many others to mention. Most of these names can be traced to Maine, anywhere from Hallowell, Brunswick, / Machias, Phippsburg, Harpswell, to Old Orchard / Wells, York to the Berwicks....also in New Hampshire, from Dover, Portsmouth, Barrington to the seacoast. From Massachusetts, Plymouth Rock, Boston, Haverhill. To England, Wales, Scotland, France, Denmark and back.|
The memorials I have created are those that are directly related to me.(except the "Fernalds" and the "Ekola's") In some cases going back 12 to 14 generations. Most however are within 5 generations.... I don't go around and snap photos of cemetery gates or entrances just for the fun of it......I do however thank those who travel and record old cemeteries, the ones that beat the brush and make it possible for folks to find their loved ones from years past.....Thank You!
This is fun and meant to be enjoyable, for I have always believed that "one does not know where one is going, until one has known where one has been"....our ancestors tell us that, and more if we watch, learn and listen.

you are most welcome to manage George, glad he will be with family. If you need assist with Purinton, Purington in Western Mass. please feel free to call on me as it is a common name in an area I am familiar with.

|David M Morin||RE: William H.H. Fernald|
In regards to the photo it came from a Civil War photo album that contained images of NH soldiers who were identified. A dealer broke up the album (a shame to say the least) and sold the images individually. I was fortunate to acquire the Fernald image. What is unique about it is that the 8th New Hampshire Infantry, in which Fernald served, was converted to "mounted" infantry, which explains the unique uniform he is wearing.
Eventually they went back to infantry to close out the war. Not related to Fernald nor am I related to Kenny Morin.

I do Find A Grave work for Michael's Vietnam unit. Photographers cannot find his grave marker ...... none of the Mc Glone markers are photographed. We would appreciate it if you could look for him the next time you're in Dover. Larry

It was with great interest I found your Family Tree. Sarah A. York married to Ira Cheney was a sister to my grt. grt. grandfather, William Harrison York married to Sarah Littlfield. Many over the years have tried to find the parents of Josiah York, Sarah and William's father who married Catherine Davis. He is my stonewall. I will keep looking.
You uncle Bert [Bertrand Proulx] is a decendent of my 2nd great grandfather Noel Proulx, not on my direct line. I was pleased to read about Bert. Best Wishes, Jack Prue
Nice write up about my dad. Send me an email. I have tons of information about the Purington family.

Thanks for adding George and adding the information in his memorial. I saw a news release that he was added to the NH ODM.
Genealogy is a hobby (perhaps an obsession for 15 years). I usually stick to my wife's and my families but thought I would research George's to see if there were any living relatives.
I have a full subscription to Ancestry.com, use RootsMagic to create reports and compile databases. I share genealogy information, except that for the living or recently dead (which I keep on my computer).
Be more than happy to correspond or talk about this. I have few questions based upon an hour or so of research, prior to seeing your entry in Find a Grave.
