RE: ferdinand d mcdonell
Thanks for checking. I really appreciate it. James Simms was a wealthy man by 1840 and I always hoped I would find a headstone but so far no such luck but my fingers are always crossed. Thanks again. PS email is valid

RE: ferdinand d mcdonell
My ancestor James Simms (Sims) married Elizabeth McDonell around 1820 maybe a couple years before. They lived in Duval County possibly around "Pablo" She died between 1842 & 1846 in St Johns County. The information I have so far, which is sketchy is that she was born in Georgia around 1801.So I am reaching for straws. Thanks.

Henrietta Hamilton Moore Baines, St James Cem, Toronto
Hello at long last, Mary :) This week in clearing out an accumulation of old F/G messages, I came across the one you had sent me on 5/7/14 --
Hello Oh Sunny One!
I was just curious if you are related to Henrietta Hamilton Moore Baines. She is my 1st cousin, 2x removed. Her father, Hamilton Hugh Moore is the brother of my great grandmother, Mary Jane Moore Sutherland.
Hope all is well in Canada! / Mary #47328047
I apologise sincerely for not responding before. Suffice to say that my focus at the time was elsewhere, and a goodly number of emails went unanswered. Sorry

In answer to your question, no, I'm not related to the Baines family, other than that Henrietta's daughter, Dorothy Bancks Baines, married my late Mother's first cousin, Bruce Petersen, in July 1940. Sadly, Dorothy was widowed less than two years later, when Bruce's plane was shot down over Germany during WWII. Dorothy apparently never remarried. If I had known (prior to finding her obituary during my research) that she was living in Toronto, I would have loved to go and meet her, but unfortunately I didn't learn of her whereabouts until she was gone.

If you would like me to transfer Henrietta's memorial, and/or any other of the Baines memorials that I've created (with the exception of Dorothy's), please do let me know and I'll be happy to move them into your care.

All the best, =]) Beth

RE: Clara Pelot 1862 OR 1859
Further thought.- you might call the Charleston Cemetery or visit there if you live nearby and see their records.

They also should want correct information going out from them. As to my Grandmother having her disinterred, this would have been very difficult and I would imagine very expensive and than have her shipped to N.J. So I would throw that out immediately.
Thaks, Janice

RE: Clara Pelot 1862 OR 1859
They apparently all came North sometime after the War. Clara was listed in the 1880 Census as living back with her Father in Norfolk, VA and keeping house. Next we find her in Hull, MA. with her Mother. My grandmother was married in Brooklyn in
1885, Brooklyn, Kings, N.Y.
Clara Theresa Freeman PELOT is buried in Rosedale & Rosehill
Cemeteries, Linden, N.J. Grave 2. Her daughter, Rosa, is buried next to her in Grave 3.l
I think that maybe a Pelot Child was buried in Magnolia and than no one checked, they assumed that is where they all were buried. It would make more sense if they had been buried in the Cemetery were Lt. Pelot, her husband, Laurel Grove Cemetery North, Savannah, Ga, is buried.
The phone # is 908-862-4990. I would suggest that you call them and get a confirmation of this information. ( which I did a month ago).
The bad thing about any information like this that is incorrect,
if it isn't checked and changed, all the other work that you have done is suspect.
Thank you for your note. Janice Dewey Brown
