Bio and Links
Bio Photo I research my own family (Mangold, Zimmerman, Brandau, Eggers), the family of Benjamin Franklin, and have enjoyed a few photo outings here in the Rockville, MD area.

Recently, I've worked on two Virtual Cemeteries related to the Green Mountain Train Wreck of March 1910 in Iowa: one for the people that died in that disaster, another for people directly impacted (like my great-grandmother Maggie Eggers).

My forum user # is 49322 (Marty M.), not 12540 (Sippi). I do not see how to fix the link below.

Thank you for the photos and inscription.

I just want to check the spelling. Did they really mix up their French and Latin with "requiescat EN pace"? (EN for IN)

Best regards,

Marty, be my guest to use the photo! I'm sorry the photo isn't of great quality, but 10 years ago, Find A Grave limited the size to something like 250 KB, so all of the photos that I've posted from back then are of poor quality compared to what we can post today.

RE: Francis Folger Franklin

I took that picture in 2005 and posted it then to the website. From the new pictures, I think they've made some changes since I was there at that time. I seem to recall being able to walk right up to Ben Franklin's slab marker. Now it looks like they've got a brick boundary with a fence around it.

As for the date, I don't know the answer to your question about whether it was 1 day or 4 days. I do know that many times, a 4 can be confused as a 1 because the two strokes that go down left and back to the central pillar are often quite narrowly incised and if the light isn't right, it appears to be a 1. So there might simply have been a misreading of the number in the past.

Moedy and Rossler burials Dunn county WI.
The incorrectly listed burials/memorial pages have been successfully merged and now appear in Saint Johns Lutheran cemetery, Dunn county WI.
My correction/addition for the address of the cemetery itself was submitted May 1 2014 and is still pending. It should read Spring Brook township, 710th St. south of county highway E. Not Menomonie. Getting there!

Thanks for the photo on her memorial...anyway you could turn it right side up to be able to read easier? I would, but because you put it on there, it won't let me.

Thanks again for your time & effort.

You are welcome.

I am almost finished with Springdale Cemetery.
I have taken photos of all the stones but there
are still about 50 that I haven't been able to

We have also put the photos on IaGenWeb along
with a data base.

You are so welcome. I in 4H with Helen, Linda and Gloria. I see their mother once in awhile at funerals in that area.
My home was close to the cemetery and I just photo many stones when I go and do a photo request for someone. I also photographed most of Peace Lutheran in Ryan.
