I am Charles R Pace III. Since I retired from Exxon Refining USA, One of my pastimes is Genealogy of my Pace Family.
Proven ancestors go back to my Great-g-g-g Grandfather William Pace of Halifax NC, born about 1753 and died in Montgomery CO TN in 1845.
His son Gideon Pace also from Halifax NC was born in 1784. He migrated with his Wife Martha Hunt Pace and his 8 children, 6 sons and 2 daughters to Texas in 1828. He died September 3 1829, of Yellow fever returning to Texas from a business trip to New Orleans on the Schooner Eclipse owned by Brown Austin(he died in New Orleans of Yellow Fever Aug 1828), Stephen Austin's brother.
My Great-G-Grandfather Dempsey Council Pace was born 1819 in Montgomery CO TN, before the 1820 Montgomery TN census. He was one of four of Gideon's sons that fought for Texas Independence at the Battle of San Jacinto.
He and his oldest brother James also fought at the Battle of Bexar. He died in Columbus, Colorado CO Texas in Oct 1851. He had 3 sons and 1 daughter. His wife Elizabeth Dabney Pace married Dempsey's oldest brother, James Robert Pace in December 1854 in Austin TX. They had 2 sons.
My Great Grandfather was Robert James Pace born in Columbus, Colorado CO TX in 1848. He married Martha Ellen Keepers. They had 11 Children.
My Grandfather was Charles Robert Pace SR. born in April 1880 in Bastrop Co TX. He died in Baton Rouge LA. Oct 1950. He married Carrie Eugenia Wells. They had 1 son and 3 daughters.
My Father was Charles Robert Pace Jr. born April 1911 in Walls LA and died in Baton Rouge LA in Aug 1967. He married Sybil Irene Chaney. They had 1 son, Charles R. Pace III.
