RE: # 107585973 Wm Elias Logan
Chapel of the Valley is a Cremation and Funeral Home. So you are probably correct in assuming he was cremated.

Actually the DC that I got shows nothing about burial or cremation.
I really don't know!

RE: Memorial# 124832313 Samuel Logan
Dates seem to match the years for Hulda, but I didn't take a picture of her grave. I collect Civil War Graves of Iowa Civil War Regiments and Samuel Logan was in the 7th Iowa Infantry Co. H, severely wounded in his left arm in May of 1864. It appears there were two Logan's in the Seventh Iowa Co. H. Here is the record for both:

Logan, George A. Age 20. Residence Brighton, nativity Indiana. Enlisted July 15, 1861.Mustered July 24, 1861. Killed in battle Nov. 7, 1861, Belmont, Mo.

Logan, Samuel M. (Veteran.) Age 21. Residence Brighton, nativity Indiana. Enlisted July 15,
1861. Mustered July 24, 1861. Promoted Fourth Corporal Jan. 8, 1862; Third Corporal March
14, 1862; Third Sergeant Nov. 12, 1862; Second Sergeant. Re-enlisted and re-mustered Jan. 5,
1864. Wounded in left arm severely May 15, 1864. Promoted First Sergeant Nov. 17, 1864.Mustered out July 12, 1865, Louisville, Ky

RE: Memorial #146877569
I can see where this would be confusing. Please refer back to the two memorials, as I believe I've updated them to the point where they make sense. #69 (d. 1951) comes from the CADI-and he was b. 1880 "other than US". That I attributed him to the parents was my error. Apologies.

#98 (d. 1935) can be linked to other records found, as well as the interment listing for Old Oroville Cemetery, see cited records, as stipulated in that memorial. He is the son of Charles and Catherine (see his mother's bio, a portion of which I've now posted to his memorial).

I hope that this makes more sense, and thanks for bringing the error to my attention. Regards, A.

Cousin, I just submitted for you a request to update the parents of William Waddle (32436376) to be Joseph Waddle (35736079) and Jane Brown Waddle (24717952). I wasn't able to give a reason in the edit request so I'll offer it here.

One, the website given in the FindAGrave entry for William Waddle (35736143), who is currently listed as the father, suggests that Joseph is actually the father.

Two, from my own research I've come across the will for Joseph's son Joseph Jr. (21035020) which mentions a brother William living in Clark County, Ohio. A death register from the same time lists Joseph Jr. as the son of Joesph and Jane Waddle.

If I'm in error please let me know.

Thank you for the link. I really do wish our ancestors had been more inventive with their kid's names. Multiple John's in Maria's family are awfully confusing but this reads to me as if it is about a possible nephew named John. It's definitely a lot of great information though and it expands greatly (without contradicting thankfully) on what little I had about her family.

Please send me an email sometime as I'd like us to stay in touch. Not long ago I found a descendent of William's brother Elijah and we've been able to help each other around our respective brick walls.

Greetings Cousin,

My 3gg is William Waddle (32436376) and I'm descended from him by way of Joseph Mitchell Waddle (32421575). I've read you're descended from Susan and I do not yet have any information about her family. I'd love to be able to compare some notes with you. More than anything I'd like to know if you have any background on William's wife Maria.
