THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked On a lonely, windswept hill; Today we talked where others cried For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched By graves of tiny babies; Snatched from the arms of loving kin, In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay In the last sleep of their time; Lying under the trees and clouds - Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot; Who lies beneath this hollowed ground? Was it a babe, child, young or old? No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay. We had been here once before On a day we'd all like to forget, But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin The graves of ancestors past; To be preserved for generations hence, A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend, For stones sometimes crumble to dust And generations of folks yet to come Will be grateful for your trust.

I see a request for Karen and John Olsen
Karen had one and I copied it and put it to John
There is also a Baby Olsen 1960 headstone. I am not sure if it is their baby or not.I never knew about this.

No problem. Didn't even know you requested it. I went through Likely and took pictures of all the people who may be related to me. Jean was my granddads brothers daughter. So my mom was a cousin.
Any others you were looking for there?

The VA has the Nationwide Gravesite Locator, also MooseRoots has some veteran's grave sites.
|D. E. Beeson||RE: Eliz. Schirru|
It was my honor to fulfill your photo request at the Houston National Cemetery...
|Lori Reiss||RE: Anna Hartmann Ehlke|
I've transferred the Ehlke family to you.
Let me know if I have any others that you would like.
PS I am a descendant of George Hartmann who came to America with his father Caspar. Are you by any chance related to that Hartmann family?
|Marlin Miller||RE: Edward Friedrichs and Kate|
Sorry about that. There is a large family monument with several other Friedrichs in the lot. I will get that taken next week.
|Sue Ann Harfst||RE: Grove Zimmerman|
Thank you for the kind words. And you are very welcome.
Yes, Sheryl is still a very active Graver, although currently laid up with a broken bone. You can use the edit key to submit obits, stories, links, etc., on the memorial.
|Larry Krueger||RE: Runges|
I will post them anyway since they are on the same stone. When they are all separate and someone adds one request and they expect a whole family of sometimes a dozen of the surname to be found, shot and added it gets irritating. In this case I should not have asked. MY BAD.
Check the two names in about 5 minutes.
|Larry Krueger||RE: Runges|
I would almost guess you are wrong. On the same stone With William and Johanna, there is one that was probably died at birth in 1894 and the other was born in 1900 and died in 1901. And you may not have found any records for them anyplace because they were not required to report them until 1907.
I am in the process of filling your request.
If you are interested in their two children that died, would you mind adding two more requests.
Hertha Runge & Oliver Runge.
