thank you for giving this baby a memorial. He would be my grandma's little brother and is a birth I did not know about. And your generosity with your photos is refreshing. Kudos

William Glass 163384891
Hi Sara,

Just so you know where that info on William Glass comes from, he is considered a major figure in the history, such as it is, of the tiny island of Tristan da Cunha, since he was essentially the founder of the British colony on the island, arriving there in 1815. (The bicentennial of the British colony is being celebrated this year; he appears on a postage stamp of the Island issued this year, which can be found on an official Tristan page.)

His death is therefore documented in books on the island. My immediate source is the book by Margaret Mackay, which I'm in the process of putting up on my site. (Unproofread page, but the information on it is correct: http://bit.ly/obitGlassMACAI.)

Kind regards,
Bill Thayer

Are you a Madson relative ??
Hi Sara,

I see you uploaded a photo to the memorial for Thomas Albert Madsen, F.A.G. 118464329.

Are you related to Thomas -- or his father, Mads Madsen ? And is this photo a piece of family memorabilia ?

I am asking this because I am in the Madson family -- down thru Mads Madsen's brother Jorgen Madson (different spelling of last name).

I have been doing extensive edits to the extended Madson Family members' Find A Grave memorials -- to have them filled out as much as possible and to get them all linked up. :-)
