|usafdo||WT1 Walter H. Sollie - Coming home to US|
WT1 Walter Henry Sollie, 37
United States Navy
Friday, January 6, 2017
The family of WT1 (E-6) Walter H. Sollie has invited the Patriot guard to stand in honor and escort him to Barrancas National Cemetery for final Honors.
Walter H. Sollie was a casualty on the USS OKLAHOMA at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on the morning of December 7th 1941. Oahu was the first line of defense against a surprise attack by the Japanese Imperial Navy.
We owe a great deal of gratitude to those brave men and women that bravely distinguished themselves on that fateful day.
Walter’s honorable service is evidenced by Barrancas National Cemetery letter dated 8 Dec 16.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Road is in charge of the arrangements.
CAUTION: The Naval Air Station requires that we wear long sleeve shirts, long fingered gloves, long trousers, DOT approved helmets, leather footwear covering the ankles and appropriate eye protection at all times while riding aboard the base.

0930 – Safety Briefing for all riders
0945 – KSU to Oak Lawn

This is not the correct way to request a memorial transfer. Please make a request from the memorial site itself. It is much faster.

In regard to Louisia McCrary at Live Oak - Could you please change her date of death to Jun. 17, 1900? In looking at a closeup of her marker, it shows the date clearly. (Date on record is shown as Jun. 12, 1900.) Thanks, Iris

I will keep his military service in mind. He may have served with my ancestor Daniel Aycock. They are buried only a mile from each other! I am glad we could find and photograph your ancestor's stone.

THANKS A BUNCH FOR THE PHOTO OF RUBY'S HEADSTONE.

Taken care of.

I agree. I think I'll just start adding them when I take them - at least until I'm told otherwise.

I added the picture plus some others that I had on my computer. I will probably being go back to Dover soon and will look for the other ones you need. When looking for a name in a photo request I usually take pictures of other graves with that same last name just in case they are needed. I haven't figured out if it is ok on here to add a picture if there is a memorial listed but no picture and a request has not been made for the picture so I just hang onto them in case a request is made. Glad I could help.

Typo - should have been "for" not four.
