William C Packett
It may be of interest to you that this is the William Packett who was the son of Robert "Cal" Howard (who was involved in the McGhee/Howard/Jones feud) and Sallie Packett (widow of a Lafayette Packett, but daughter of John Algood). William's parents were never married, so he never took his father's name. He lived with his Algood kin until moving in with his father in 1920. By 1930 he is living with his wife, the former Callie Williams, with whom he has five sons and one daughter. The couple is divorced by 1940, and he winds up in the Mountain Home Veterans Administration Center, having served in the military from 1917 to 1919.

RE:Clara and Louise White Graves
The pictures i posted a few weeks ago of Clara And Louise White in The Old Harmony Cemetery in Alcolu, S. C. were taken about a year ago before we had a ice storm last winter. I went to that cemetery last saturday to reset my uncle's damaged tombstone and i noticed a large limb had fallen across the Whites graves and one of the tombstones had been knocked over. I had to leave the cemetery before i planned because a family member was in an accident so i did not get to take a picture of the damaged graves. I thought you may want to know that the tombstones were damaged.

RE: Question re: Alma's husband
It is possible, all my mother's kin came from that area and I also descend from Ollis. Mark was my Gr Grandmother's 3rd husband. I come from her first husband Simon Buchanan who was killed in the Civil War. She passed 7 weeks before I was born. My Grandmother did not talk much about Mark's family.

I'll let you know if I find anything new.

Taylor Cemeteries- Avery Co., NC
Patti- Just saw and old note of yours about problems with the 2 Taylor Cemeteries. I just photographed completely the one in Millers Gap so it is almost straightened out- I got a couple moved. (There is still a Holtzclaw which I believe may belong in the other one.) I hope to photograph the other Taylor Cemetery at some point. Thought you might be interested.

RE: Do you know anything about a cemetery in Plumtree, NC
There is a road next to the Plumtree Presbyterian Church that goes past where Miss Kay Wilkins lived. It is a little dirt road and up there is where the cemetery is. I think the AME church was there in the 1950s. There are some older graves there like S.M., Vestine and Adolphus Jackson and then there are some new ones like Harrison Jackson and his sons Harrison Jr and Joseph. Carl Shade is buried there and so is Montie Mathes. Sam and Kattie Avery are buried there along with their son, Sam, Jr.I have photos of all the stones but I have no idea where to put them. I can't find where a survey was done.
Thanks so much for your help

Do you know anything about a cemetery in Plumtree, NC
I was at a cemetery today in Plumtree. There was a cornerstone for a church (Conley Chapel AME Zion dedicated in 1919, I think) and I was curious if you knew if this cemetery has a name. Since you catalogued the cemetery at Beech Bottom, I thought you may have information.
Thanks for any information you can share
