Merrill Thomas
I live in Raleigh NC and have been working with others on a line of THOMAS that lived in this area from 1772-1820's. I'm almost certain your Merrill is the son of Jonathan Thomas of Wake. Another possible member of the family, Henry Kinchen Thomas, moved to Clarke County GA in the 1850's for which there is also a find-a-grave mention.

I've got more on this family at: https://rockyrivernc.com/2016/12/10/descendants-of-asa-thomas/

Not sure if there area any living THOMAS descendants but would be great if so as we've got a fledgling effort aimed at connecting loose ends to a prominently documented family out of Bertie County NC. Any further discussion or help in getting the word out would be much appreciated!

Not much. :( One of my grandpa's aunts was married to a Heath (O.P. and Annie Lee Heath).

George D Heath # 25733305
I saw where you had added some pictures and wondered if you might have additional information George D Heath? I see a photo of a recently added tombstone which indicates he served in the Confederate Army but do not see reference to his Company or Regiment. Do you know if he served in the 16th Georgia Volunteer Infantry Company B which was organized at Jackson County, Ga? There is a G.D. Heath listed on the roster of that Regiment and Company as enlisted Aug 13, 1861.

Thank you. Oh I feel the same way but some people do not want to share their things. I love sharing. Thanks again.

RE: Pictures
Thanks! I just like to ask because some people get upset if you use something they put on Find a Grave. I had it happen with a distant cousin I had shared with for several years and my mom shared with her mom before they died. I will never understand some people. My tree is public so it can be shared.
I am working on my Russell family right now but did work a little on Merrell's line after your note. I just realized I have been pushing that tree to the back and working on my own family instead of my husbands. I have just had a breakthrough after over 50 years and have found the parents of my great great great grandfather. Now I am trying to get past his parents to the next generation. It is a bigger puzzle and another David Russell to work with.
Let me know if I can be of help with your research.
