Mary A Mynatt/Mary A Hatfield
Kathy -- I had hoped to be contacted by a descendant. I wanted to leave a message right away to let you know how very interested we are in finding out this history; but I just moved a state over and I shall have to revisit the details to more intelligently discuss this - but even from memory, the situation sticks with me a bit. I would be more than happy to discover that our Mary Adeline was married to a different Martin L. Claiborne with the same age/birthplace and so that she has a branch of cousins still out there. But my impression was that she was a 1st wife who died young. Please contact me directly at . My prime source document for her marriage to Martin L. Claiborne is the 1880 census for Texas > Montague > Precinct 6 > 124 > pg 10 . You will note that Jackson Bevil is living in the household, who is a member of our extended family, and the family is near my gg-granduncle Lycurgus Williams. While I am happy to be proven wrong, it would not be the first time that these early wives were forgotten so long ago as spouses moved on.
