I have a deep love for the State of Delaware learning how much my family part took in the foundation of this wonderful state.
I also have fallen in love with the Delmarva Pennisula for much of my paternal side was from all over the Delmarva Pennisula.
With being 8th Generation Burrows in the state of Delaware on my Paternal side it fills me with much joy to state that I am a true Delawarean.

|William Wright||About John T. Groves' gravestone|
Thanks for putting the photo of John T. Groves' gravestone online. I have some information about him.
John T. (Thomas) Groves was a son of Jonathan and Elizabeth Vandergrift Groves. He was born March 21, 1843 in Christiana, DE, and his military death certificate says he died June 20, 1864. John was killed during the Civil War by a sharpshooter during the Battle of Petersburg, VA. The gravestone looks like it says June 19, 1864, so perhaps he was shot on the 19th and died overnight.

Cleaning up the graves at Bryn Zion Cemetery sounds like it might be a good job for a local church organization. I don't know if you have any connections or contacts in the area who might be able to present the project?
There are warnings posted at the entrance about digging, and I know that a number of the graves look like they may have ground bees nesting. Two markers in the tree line have poison ivy or sumac growing all over them, and I developed a nasty case after getting in there to take the photos.
I have no personal connection to any of the people buried anywhere in Delaware as my family hails from upstate NY and the Ohio area, but I do think it's important to document every person's grave if possible, for that person's family and for future generations.
Hope you find the help you need to preserve your ancestors graves.

I have been working on photographing all of the markers in Bryn Zion Cemetery in Kenton, DE and came across your photo of the old "Brinzion Baptist Church" which you posted to the memorial of Jane Burrows Numbers #7827305
I think it is a wonderful treasure! I am hoping to encourage you to also post that photo to the home page for the Bryn Zion Cemetery. I think everyone who has loved ones buried there would love to see it.
