I don't know anything more about June Minish. You can search Oakwood Cemetery for others by using the search feature on the cemetery's home page.

Hi Bobby:

I can't read the date either. I'm out of town right now, but I will pull up the photo when I return home (app. 1 March) and will let you know.

Burgess Cemetery
Received your message. Tried to reply via email but it kept freezing up, so sending through Find A Grave Have not been to cemetery in several months. There was a dead tree that needed to be cut, possibly same dead tree you spoke of. The rock wall encircles the hillside just inside tree line. Doug found numerous graves marked with stones several yards from all located graves. I did not go look. He also found the rock wall. He is the adventurous type and is always looking for more. We will be glad to try and help when you get ready to start. Just let us know.

RE: Ezekiel Burgess
Hi Bobby,
Ezekial was Washington's father??? if my memory is correct. I have wondered where they were buried and it would make sense. I also wondered why it was called Burgess Cemetery when there were numerous burials preceeding the known Burgess ones. I am certain that the name is correct(Burgess Cemetery) because it is well documented in Langford family records. If Ezeekial and wife were buried there 1st and everyone else followed it would make sense. I also wondered what the connection between the Langford's and the Burgesses was. Do you have any ideas?? There are also as many unmarked graves at Burgess as marked graves. There are indentions and rocks marking graves almost to edge of woods on all 4 sides. There also appears to be an old rock wall enclosing the cemetery. Are these possibly slave graves?? Just expressing some thoughts on the matter. Don't know if I'm correct or not.

I do not show any children for her in my records, but there may be children that I do not know about.
