|I Love Genealogy||RE: John Mayes|
That's how it usually works out, two people are searching the same person, but need more info to confirm. I created a Find A Grave for an Ella Mayes, daughter of Michael Mayes and niece of Hetty Allison Tidlow, wife of Benjamin Franklin Tidlow and the only Michael in the area, was the son of this John. I found his Find A Grave (Michael, goes by Maize) at Baltimore MD like the obit said. Can't find the son Anthony that was still living in 1911, also was listed as Andrew early on.
Many trees have that John's first wife was Mary Tidlow, which would explain the Ella girl living with them. Can't find who her mother was, if Michael Mayes/Maize was the father, then what happened to the mother, she must have died between 1874 when Ella was born and 1877 when Michael is listed as remarrying.
I didn't want poor Ella floating around on here not related to anyone, so I tried hard to find the missing pieces.... Glad I could help you also.
This is what I found for him early one, before the 2nd wife.
1860 Walker, Centre, PA, John Mays 29, a Stage Driver, personal estate $125, Mary 28, Jane 8, MICHAEL 6, Elizabeth 4, Andrew 2.
1870 Mill Hall, Clinton, PA, John Mays 38, a Carpenter, personal estate $100, Mary 38, MICHAEL 16 born abt 1854 PA, Anthony 11, Margret 5.
Then of course in 1880 he's with his 2nd wife.
Thanks so much!!

Marjorie, I have a question about a cemetery in Find a Grave that has your name on it. This is about a cemetery in Wirt Co WV.
If you were the one that put that cemetery on there then you already know it is in Wirt Co BUT, I don't really know how the info is populated so I wanted to check with you.
The cemetery in question is "Leep Cemetery #2". Eramios and Charity Leep as well as Virginia Jennie Leep are buried there.
There is no location on that cemetery and I very much would like to know exactly where it is. Any advice?
Thanks, Dea (a gggranddaughter of the Leeps)

You are welcome and thank you for the compliment. I did not find a location for John Mayes. His death certificate has him in Cedar Hill. A Clarence Britton, Find A Grave Memorial# 175086495, is in the plot. Is he a relative?--Storres
|Storres Myers||RE: Mayes|
You are welcome. I checked on your photo requests in Cedar Hill this morning and was too late, the sun was behind the stones. I will wait for another sunny morning and get there earlier. A son, Earle Kenneth is in the plot with them and Clarence Britton 1911-1996. I also missed two of your relatives in Flemington Cemetery and will get them when weather permits.--Storres

I was wondering where you find William Cunningham's middle name "Washington". From all my research I have only seen William W. Cunningham.
Also, his will was probated on 1 Aug 1911, making a 1912 death date incorrect.
If you have any documentation to verify his full name and death date, would you be willing to share it with me as I'm working on a DAR application of Thomas Cunningham, William's grandfather.
Thank you in advance for any assistance.

We've spoken before about this fine man. I put in a request for someone to take a picture of his grave site but so far no takers.
Is there any way to speed this up?

Hi, I have a question about a memorial you did for Elizabeth Anderson Hall in Beaty Cemetery. Did you get the info from a stone or a cemetery record? I have been trying to find information on her family. She was married to David Hall. Her obit says a cemetery in Burning Springs. If info was from a cemetery record, do you have a copy or can you tell me where I can obtain a copy? If from a stone, could you send me a photo? Thanks so much for all you do, Cassie
|ruth hawkins||Full name of mother of Levi Hopkins|
Please edit the information on the mother of Levi Hopkins #64843196 to indicate that her full name was
Susannah Drake Hopkins Leonard Fisher
since she had children by both David Hopkins and George Leonard but none by her third husband, William Fisher. Thanks!
