Bio and Links
Bio Photo All throughout my teenage years I was a lost soul because I was missing a part of me. My greatest need in life is to know about the Miller family. Due to a divorce and my mom relocating us to Nebraska I have lost out on knowing any of my relatives on my dad's side. The only memories I have of my dad are from when I was 4 years old. I am thanking God today for the internet! Any help finding out my family tree is greatly appreciated and all photos of the Miller family in Eureka would be a special treat.

Aunt Sue and Uncle Bill
Theresa,

My name is Nathan Norman. I would be the Grandson of Albert Smith and Margaret (Miller) Smith. I know that Margaret was only my Grandmother only through marriage, but I always knew her as Grandma.

My Mom (Diana), Dad (Larry), and I would go over to their house every weekend, play Pitch or Yahtzee, or just watch TV. Some of my fondest memories are of the holidays when Aunt Sue and Uncle Bill would come and visit. Sherry, a cousin, would often be there as well, and I would always spend alot of time playing with Uncle Bill and Sherry's oldest son, Jerry.

I haven't heard of how Uncle Bill is for quite some time, I remember he, and I think it was you, came to Eureka to visit, and that was the last time I had seen him. I know that he wasn't doing to well at the time.

Anyway, I work for the Greenwood County Historical Society, and I had stumbled across a class photo of Florence Smith from 1926 Reece, which would be Grandma's (Margaret) mother and I saw that you had posted a bit on her page and thought I would see if you were who I thought you were.

Hello Theresa,
Just stopped by to say hi. There are so many friendly, wonderful, and helpful people on this site. Welcome to Find A Grave.
May you find all that you are searching for. I never knew my Dad and still have very little knowledge about him. I know something about missing a part of yourself that you speak about.
Take care and good talking with you.

Millers
Theresa: I have been to Council Grove, Ks. one time, it is a cute little town. We may be going to KC for the 4th. I have still not heard from Sherry. She may be angry at me as her husband Steve was calling me and was depressed abt Sherry. He was looking for some emotional support he is really upset. I couldn't help him. But I didn't want to be rude so I listened to him. He may have told Sherry he called me and she may have assumed I had taken sides by her husband's calling me. I don't know whats going on with them but I sure hope they can find some happiness and get on with their lifes. Life's to short when you look back. Take Care Lynn

RE: Millers
When you go back to Eureka I want to let you know about their Historical society. They have a small museum and a lot of information about Eureka and Greenwood Couty. They have a lot of research material and the lady that work there is really nice. They are located at 120 W. 4th St. located right north of the Court House Ph. # (620)583-6682. I have not heard from Sheri and don't know if I will, but hope I will. She is going through marital problems. Sheri would have all the picture of all family members. When Aunt Margaret passed away I was told she got all Aunt Margarets pictures. Take Care Lynn

Theresa: Hi, I also was at South Lawn cemetery at Severy, Ks on Monday. I left some flowers on Veryl and Jerry's grave. Its so disappointing you did not get the opportunity to meet Sue and Jerry you would have loved them as much as I did. Margaret was the perfect aunt she liked kids and had a gentle nature, Loved her. When everyone else thought I was the weirdest thing on planet earth with my fire engine red hair and freckles your grandpa thought I was cute. Maybe he really did think I was cute or he had a gift of compassion for my feelings. Anyway in my opinion you came from some pretty good people. I did not see your grandparent to much in my life but when I was at Sue house visiting they sometimes would drop by. After Margaret's 1st husband passed away she moved off the farm near Severy, Ks. into Eureka, Kansas. She lived at 419 S. Valley Street and Clarence and Florence lived a block behind her on South State Street. I remember thinking that Florence and Shorty were nice looking people. I remember that Florence had gray hair when I was little, now looking back she must have had premature gray hair as she would have only been in her early 50's when we were little.
I also know that Florence and Shorty had lived around Reece, Kansas at one time because Margaret went to school at Reece. I have contacted our 2nd cousin Sherry I think she might be able to help. I hope this helps. I am related through Albert (my dad's side) and Sue's first husband Jack (My mother‘s side). No family married family just one of those weird situations. Take Care Lynn
