I thought I would invite you to the Charles Co Genealogical Society. The group is having the first meeting of the year next Thursday at 7:00 in White Plains.
Hope to see you there.

RE: Marr
Yes, it sure has been too hot.

I have been researching since about 1995 but only took photos for my family. Now, I take photos as often as I can get to S. Md. since it is so
addicting!. The older the stone, the more interesting it is.

What I really want to do is "probe" for sunken stones to uncover. It is so sad to know that
someone's stone is hidden for no one to visit.

We were at St. John's Bumpy Oak recently and a tree had fallen and was on top of several
stones. So many stones were broken. Sad.

It is a peaceful "hobby". It is usually just me/us and the birds.

RE: hello...
Hi Ginger,
I belong to the Charles County Genealogical Society and the group has been doing cemetery transcriptions for the past few years. I checked as to what is posted on our website, but did not find them either. You might find our website handy to use. It is:
You might want to join our group and help with the cemetery work. We have monthly meetings in White Plains but are off for the summer.
It is good to hear from someone else in the county being involved with Find A Grave!

Welcome, you are doing a great job! Also consider carrying a pair of shears or something sharp in case the cemetery crew has not trimmed the flat type of stones.

I found graves last time I visited one cemetery that had been well hidden by grass.

Thanks for inquiring, I really appreciate your efforts. Catholic records are so hard to find.
Md. Archives does not have them unless the church made them available to be copied.

The Mary, next to William could be her.
She married William and after he died, she might have remarried. Is the information on an OLD type of stone? Is it readable?

I don't know if you are aware but if you carry a small spray bottle and use it to spray the stone, sometimes it is much easier to decipher and/or photograph.

Archie G. Swann
Thanks for the gravestone photo of Archie Swann !! I appreciate this so much. While you were there, did you see anymore of the Swann Family ? There were parents and more siblings, which I think may have been there also.
Again, thanks !

RE: hello...
No big deal!
Did you find Mary and William Marr? I looked for awhile until it got too hot, but could not locate them.
