Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi! My user name is R2Salzgber, my real name is Ralph Edward Salzgaber II. I am new to tracking my family geneology and researching graveyards, but excited about finding out more about my ancestors. My mom, Betty Hall Salzgaber (now 93 years old and still going strong!) has done some research and found my great-great-great grandfather on my Father's side was one of the first sixteen settlers and the first Lutheran to settle in Columbus, OH. On my Mom's side I have two 5xgreat-grandfathers who fought in the Revolutionary War, and two even "greater" grandfather's who came over to America with the pilgrims. Most of Mom's people came from Guernsey and Noble counties in Ohio.

Along a different line - I am also very interested in "historical" golf courses as well. Among other notable courses, I have played the oldest continually open public golf course in America - VanCourtland in NYC - and the oldest continually used tee box - at the Homestead in VA - and the eastern most golf course in the USA - St. Croix in Maine.

How does this relate to Find A Grave? Well, I love to golf, so if you have a nice golf course near the library or cemetery you want me to do research in, let me know and I'll be glad to assist before or after a relaxing round of 9 holes! Or if you'd like to get together for a relaxing round of golf and sharing info re geneology and/or Findagrave, give me a call. Have clubs, will travel!

Good luck on your research.

PS - I'm not sure, and I can't prove it conclusively, but I'm pretty confident that in this endeavor, it is better to be the researcher than the one being researched!!

Elisabeth Ann Meek Floyd
May I use the wonderful pictures and obituaries that you have for Elisabeth Meek Floyd in the Snyder family tree? She is a direct descendant of John Snyder, one of the original Snyder family who settled the Barnes'Ridge area, as is my husband. He grew up less than a quarter mile from Allen's Chapel Cemetery and helped dig a few graves there (by hand)when he was a teenager.
I am trying to put together a history and family tree for the Snyders and have found much useful info here on Find-A-Grave for them and my family also. Thanks to all who volunteer and list this info. I have contributed a few memorials, but mainly for my immediate family.

Possible relative

I've recently created a memorial (160112322) for Susanna Salzgaber which I assume may be a relative of yours.

The 'S' is missing from the stone, but considering there are no Alzgabers in all of Find A Grave, I'm guessing the 'S' has been lost. The marker appears to have been part of the original 'Stone Church' which originally sat on the site.

Hope you are able to make a connection!

I was wondering about her name as Mary also. Maybe it was a middle name, but she was always Mayme in the newspaper articles.

RE: Salzgaber
I found them!
I was looking for their daughter Frances Crandall & found her and she was linked to her parents. The reason I couldn't find them before was because the name is spelled Sa"L"tzgaber.

RE: Salzgaber
I made memorials for Baird & Mayme Salzgaber today and put the info on there that I found in the newspapers. I don't have a cemetery name for them but the obit does tell where in Indiana they were buried. Lebanon, Indiana.
