Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am interested in genealogy very much and have traced all my family trees back in time. I find this very satisfying to get to know my ancestors as well as meet new relatives all over the USA through my Ancestry research. They contact me as I have so much information on at least 8 families. I always remember these people on paper were once flesh and blood people like us, working, playing, suffering, marrying, having babies, simply living life. We can't just forget them. We all want to be remembered
I am researching Braneff, Ashworth,Coleman, Armstrong.Williams, Roebuck.Carter and Roberts.

RE: John Harmon Carter 22nd. Texas Infantry
I'm afraid I don't have a picture of it unless it's the old Jefferson Hotel--I have a couple of pictures of it in my book Growing Up Gilmer. It's a huge book and well worth the $117 cost. You can buy it at http://www.blurb.com/b/7231893-growing-up-gilmer

Good to hear from you. They were available for purchase at the First National Bank in Gilmer--I'm not sure if they still are or not. You should also check at the Gilmer Mirror office to find where you may buy one. I also published a book this year with tons of great Gilmer photos in large format available at this site: http://www.blurb.com/b/7231893-growing-up-gilmer

James "Thee" Carter
Hi Mary, thanks for getting in touch about James "Thee" Carter. I have been working on this line for some time; luckily I live in Nashville, so can easily travel to area courthouses and similar to look for documents. Let me know if I can ever help you with either Carter or Boisseau.

RE: Children of James and Amy Carter
Mary,
I really appreciate you taking the time to write to me. You are one of my favorite cousins!!
I've been working on cleaning my tree and haven't taken the time to correct my Carter's. I'm going to definitely go with what you have since you've spent a significant amount of time researching the Carter's.
Once again, thank you for the corrections. That means a lot to me. Time is precious and I appreciate you sharing yours with me. I'll work on my Carter's pretty soon after I get bored with the project I'm working on.

Thanks,
Susie

RE: JJesse and son John Harmon Carterr
Not sure where the information they were buried there came from--it's possible it is on their death certificates.

John Harmon Carter and Jesse are buried at Enoch Cemetery in Upshur but their graves are unmarked. Find-a-grave should have their burials. Look at Growing Up Gilmer on Facebook and there should be photos of the Dr.'s.

Oh my, I'm not sure what volume I used. I think I just looked it up on the internet instead. Sorry!

John Harmon Carter
Hello Mary,

I haven't been surfing on findagrave in a long time. I will have to start playing on it again.

I would dearly love to obtain info you have on ancestry.com. That's so nice of you to offer your help. The Carters are an old line and they're a line I'm quite proud of.

My email address is suesuelew@msn.com. I'll find your tree by looking for John Harmon Carter.

I'll be talking to you soon. Thanks again!!
Susie

That was one amazing trip from how you described it. I've not been to the museum in Cabot, but I am now planning on going.
