Bio and Links
I was raised in SE Tennessee and still reside there today. I retired from The US Navy after 21 years and from Maytag/Whirlpool after 20 years

I am researching the families of James C. Sluder and Mangram Jones from Gilmer County, GA and James Davis and Robert A. Wilson of Cherokee County, NC. These are my great grandfathers. The Sluder and Jones families lived near each other. Three children from each family married one another. John Sluder-Harriet Jones; Sarah Sluder-Clayton Jones; and my grandfather and grandmother Joseph Sluder-Mary Eveline Jones.

Feel free to use any of my photos.

Hi James
I read your bio. You stated that Mangum Jones is your grandfather. I know his grandson was named after him. If you are referring to the Mangum Jones 1781-1867 he is my great grandfather he and his wife Jeminiah "Jenny Sluder Jones died in Gilmer County. Do you jnow who great grandmother Jeminiah "Jinny or Jenny" Sluder Jones parents are? I read online on myancestry.com account that they both were murdered right after the civil war in their own field working out on their farm by renegade men. This person cites the GILMER COUNTY GA HERITAGE BOOK as her source. Did you ever hear about this? Please be in touch

thanks
Kristy
