I have found that Find A Grave has become glacial in its speed. It seems to take forever to bring up a page, do edits, add pictures (which I reduce to Kbyte range) and most other activities that involve the Find A Grave website. Sometimes I have to type one letter and wait for it to appear on the page before typing the next one. NO FUN!!

My wife and I reside in the Blue Ridge mountains of beautiful Western North Carolina with our dog, Max. Our second dog Murphy died several years ago. He'll never be forgotten.

We settled here after a long career in the US Navy. She recently retired after many different careers the last of which was 10 years as a hospice chaplain and trainer. Now she is a quilting aficionado (actually quite good), and I'm an ardent history buff which nicely compliments another passion; family research/genealogy. One of my goals for the families I research is to reunite/link their members together on Find A Grave. I'm especially passionate about linking our military heroes with their families. In many cases they are just names on a tablet, but they had lives and families, birthdays, sometimes siblings and children and most often interesting stories about their lives. I don't want to see them lost to time. To this end I have, since May 2015, been researching the family and military history of each member of the Navy/Marine Corps air crews killed during the Battle of Midway. I'm almost finished and none too soon. The 75th anniversary of the Battle is only several months away. To see the results of my research please visit: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=battle_of_midway

Every edit I submit to memorial managers has been researched in depth by me. If I'm not sure about what I'm asking for I won't submit it. If you have a question about an edit submission please ask before you reject it! To date (Dec 2016) I have submitted almost 3200 edit requests and 38 have been rejected. Of those 38 rejections the managers did not give a legitimate reason for doing so. I try not to waste your time or mine by submitting bad edit requests.

I appreciate everyone who contributes to this great endeavor on Find A Grave.

Find A Grave Memorial# 130256434

I found this from a google search. I am the great-granddaughter of John Craig who is buried in Green-wood Cemetery in Brooklyn with his son (also John Craig), wife Mary Young and her family. This is a great mystery as the family plot at Green-wood was already in use when John died.

From Green-wood's search feature:

Daniel Dunn, Memorial 151476279
Hi, Just wanted you to know I uploaded A couple of photos to your Daniel Dunn memorial. There are a total of 7 names on the headstone, all of whom are in your bio for Daniel but not all have memorials, If you would like to create the memorials for his other family members feel free to use the photos I put up or let me know and I will attach them, there actually could be more as this is a large family plot where I have seen as many as 21 interred in one of these lot, all the best in your research,
Rick

Perfect--edits made. Please do let me know if you are related and would prefer to manage the memorials for Marius and his daughter Mary. I would happy to transfer them to you. Good luck with your research!

Marius Reininger
Hi there! I received your request to link Marius to himself as a father. I think you might have meant to link him to Morris Reininger instead. Would you take another look at your link request and let me know? Thanks!

I looked up his CA Death Certificate. It states his birthdate as 1901. I will change it but he could have given the incorrect birthdate on his WWI Draft Card so that he could serve.
