Hi Nancy, Bonnie now belongs to you. Thank you for asking for her transfer. Makes my day to be able to pass my memorials onto their family members. Sincerely, Julie

RE: Powers
I cannot find marriage recorded, but like many they may have married in VA or not in civil ceremony at all. If you look at William's death certificate on WV Division of Culture you will see it says married and informant Violet Powers. His death is after daughters death. If you research Mary "Violet" Richmond in Beckley Newspapers you will find numerous articles including a reunion photo with her Richmond brothers. Some who had not seen each other for 18 years. Also in articles you will see references to the Milliron Ave address for both William and Mary "Violet". Directory for Mary Violet shows (William Dec'd) after his death There was quite a difference in age between the 2. There are numerous articles to confirm that they were indeed living together as husband and wife. We also might consider that at the time WV Law did recognize what is referred to as Common Law Marriage.

William Morgan Powers
In you listing you note that Violet is not wife but daughter. But daughter Violet dies before obituary. After Rosa's death William married Mary "Violet" Richmond. She is the Violet mentioned in obituary. You can access her info on ancestry where she is living in same residence as William. I'm not sure if they had any children together.

Memorial #53105524
Dear Nancy:

Something is wrong with the data for Martin Divany. According to Memorial Record #53105524, he was born in 1885 and died in 1894. With these dates, he is not likely the son of PM (Patrick Michael Divany 1875-1947) and Mary E. (Mary Elizabeth(Leahy) Divany 1875-1914), since they both would have been age 10 at his birth. PM and Mary E. were my maternal grandparents and Martin would have been my uncle. To my knowledge, the only son of PM and Mary E. who died before reaching adulthood was Clement 1903-1905.

Sincerely, Thomas P. Kicher

RE: Ernest Gordon Smith
Hi Nancy

I appreciate your nice note. Glad to be of help. So many people who came to AZ just seem to "get lost".
