Fannie Gilroy
Dear Ruth,
I'm sorry I haven't been able to repsoned to your request, I have been very illl for several years now. Still fighting but a long way to go yet.

As for your request about Fannie Gilroy and her husband John Willard Gilroy. Fannie was John's only wife, he was born in Iowa. I have Fannie's records from The Foundling Hospital (ORPHANAGE) on Stanton Island, NY, and her Birth Certificate. As well I found Johns & Fannies death certificates, as well as several US CENSUS FORMS.

Without going though my bookwork, I'm unable to give you more information, but if this is a part of your family I would LOVE to share with you and maybe you have info that can help me go further in my research of Aunt Fannie.

I do know they lived in Gary, Indiana and where there house was is now a broken down baseball field and there is a collage close by. John worked at the Steel Yard as an Engineer.

I hope this help FIRMS RELATIONSHIP OR RULES THEM OUT. Best wishes in your search.

RE: Cyril Maxim
Hi, Ruth =])
Getting in touch with Jory's in the area in-and-around Barrie, Ontario, is simple. Try a look-up on Canada411(dot)com. :D
All the best, Beth

RE: Cyril Maxim
Hi, Ruth :) Seems like you are much farther ahead about this gentleman than I ever was -- well done! Actually, I was photo-recording the entire cemetery in the summer of 2010, and am not related whatsoever to anyone interred there. On the other hand, I do have a friend in Barrie who is kin to the Jory family, and I was doing some genealogy for him at the time, but that's as close as I get/got. Sorry I can't be of any useful help! All the best, =]) Beth (formerly of Barrie, now of Hamilton ON)

Orono Cemetery
Dear Ruth

To get Orono Cemetery into Orono rather than Newcastle, you need to contact Find A Grave. Find A Grave is not very kind to Canada, England, Australia or New Zealand when looking for cemeteries. For instance; see if you can find St Marys Cemetery in Oxford, England.

Minerva Jane Day born 1838 was left a widow in about 1870 with three young children. She later married Jehiel Ogden and they had a son Walter Jacob Ogden Morey. Jehiel had abandoned her by 1881 going to the US. And not returning to Clarke until about 1903 for a visit only. We do not know what became of Minerva Jane Day but do realise she was left in a difficult position. It is believed Walter Ogden was raised as Walter Morey. The three Morey children were in the Trenton area by 1901 and so was a Walter Morey of the same age as Walter Ogden
