Howdy! I believe we're related. I'd shoot at 3rd cousin.
Drop me an email.
Well keep me updated, my dear... and best of luck to you... I am happy to help if you get any new leads!!
Oh, And safe travels :)
Okay, so I finally got a contact at Saint Paul, who got me a transcription of Saint Paul's, done in 1985. There are no Knaacks in that cemetery :(
So, you can feel free to call the church. 708-946-2050... He said if there are any descrepancies that they can check burial records. But as of 1985, there was no stone. Sorry!!

Well I can't help insulate your house!! lol...
But if you open your memorial for the Knaacks, next to 'burial' (Near bottom, on the left) and click 'edit'... it will ask you if it's still a cemetery burial, and you click next... and then type in Saint Pauls, and next... then pic the beecher location. Not sure if it keeps the photo requests. But as it stands now they are requested in Saint Paulus... and we know they arent there... it started much later burials... I hate for people on wild goose chases and it's a pretty big cemetery. Don't wanna send people out for something you know isn't there...
I hope to accomplish more this week and get something going. If nothing else, some new information that will help you solve this mystery!
And, just to ask, do you have access to ancestry? I do, now... would be happy to poke around if you haven't already.

Oh Kathy I'm so sorry. And I don't know that you would have found anything at St Paul. I have tried to contact the church to see if they have records, haven't heard back yet. Gonna try to get to beecher library to see what they have...
As for now, if you could just move them back to St Paul... I know that's where you originally had them, but it was so much easier for them to put them all to Paulus, then I only had 4 SAC's... rather than the other way around.
I will keep looking but I'm moving in two weeks! I won't give up but my time is limited for the moment... I really hope I can help you find them!!
|SparkyErickson||heres what I got!|
Ok, so my sister and I did some searching around Green Garden, no luck. Now St. Pete's was kinda a let down. Most of the stones were unreadable... Many marble, some sunken into the ground. They did however have two phone numbers on the sign so I thought I'd pass them to you and if you can verify they are there and who they might be buried near, I will be glad to return and get pics!
Fabulous! It will be a help! I am planning an all day graving affair for next week that will take me near green garden. Likely next week. Let's see what pops up!
I know that sad, serene, exhausted feeling. While I had an Ancestry.com subscription it followed me loooong into the nite as I'd search censuses and got a real feel for how they lived! While I did Adam's cem in Crete (my hometown) I even knew some of the houses they lived in! What a picture. All gathered from names and numbers etched in stone. Amazing. I pass a cemetery and the feelings rush in. A desire to stop and learn. Ironic since I hated history in school!
Ill be in touch for sure! Hope we can get you a picture to add to your research!
I just saw your request and happened to be posting some photos.
According to this they aren't in Saint Paul's, http://www.karensgen.com/buch/illinois/willco/beecherstpaulburials.php
BUT... there are actually two cemeteries conjoined and for giggles they named the other one Saint Paulus. Only to be mean to me. I'm convinced. Im working on having it corrected but I think the powers that be will probly think Im on crack. But I digress... I will try to give Saint Paulus a run through.
I have been meaning to get out to Green Gardens. It is still kinda a haul from Beecher, at least 10-15 mins, so I find it more likely that they might be there... and if I have trouble I got a buddy doing some work near there. Anyway it might be a while but I promise the Knaack name will be in my mind!
