|During the early 1990's my mother encouraged me to learn as much as I could about our family's history and to record whatever information was then available about our ancestors and our extended family. Mom passed away in 1997, but I still feel her presence and continuing support. |
My genealogical quest has led me to examine the Lasyone, Thornhill, Hoob, Ashley, Odom, Graves and other related families found in Louisiana since 1800. And, it has given me a chance to meet family and friends who continue to walk the paths taken by our ancestors throughout central and north Louisiana.
I live near the town of Livingston, about 20 miles east of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. During 2011 I retired and soon discovered that retirement is all that I had hoped. Life is good.
Find A Grave is a great resource and I encourage everyone to participate, contribute information and take the next step by sponsoring a monument. " Doing" is more fun than "talking"!
